The type of dance it is to be has not been decided as - yet. Betty Wright was ap- : pointed to see about a band. The type of dance, such as the sock hpp, will be discussed at a later meeting. It was suggested that the cheerleaders take two cartons for' the March of Dimes collection through the crowds at both games, and we would all like to thank the cheerleaders for their hard work and also the people whjb contributed to this great fund. •Many problems have arisen concerning the coke machine we want to have in tfoe school corridor. Since the many problems seemed to outweigh the good points, the matter was dropped for the time being. The Student Council urges the students to put suggestions in the suggestion box" in the study hall. This is the only way for them to know what you would like them toxdo. F.TA j The F.TA. held ft meeting on Tuesday of tJhis week at noon in ^ Mrs. Bolger's room. The meeting • was called to order by the vicepresident, Judy DeCicco, in the ; absence of the president, Marilyn | Watson. She told us what committees the members were on for | the record dance that the F.TA.. f is sponsoring on Feb. 3,1, after a, • home basketball game with Woodstock.' The idee, was brought up by one of tne members to lufre a king and queen of hearts' & novelty fqr this dance. ,11he idea was to havetwo boxes at the door and w)i'en the kids tome in they would put ttyeir names in the boxes. At a later point in the evening, someone from the audience will draw two names, one' from each box, to Indicate who, will be the king and queen of hearts. A, member of the F.T.A. will then jtxowft the < reigning court and* vgive them tfiieir robes of honor, I'm sure everyone will come to v>the 4ance and support the F.T.A. and will have a chance at being the king or queen of hearts. See you there. girls worked on the tests which will assist them in preparing for the junior homemaker degree test which is to be given in the near future. In one section, food demonstra-; tions were given by the girls, explaining the different methods in preparing cookies, calces and homemade breads. The program in the other two sections consisted of discussions and demonstrations on foreign lands. The gills were sho^vn (how to eat with chop-sticks. '•* The next F.HA.. meeting is to be held Feb. 10. JUNIOR CLASS Miss Oliva, the class advisor, suggested, that this year instead of having a skating party to have all the concessions at the home games to raise money for the prom. The class thought tthis was a good substitute for the skating party, now all they need is to have some volunteers to work at the games, so come on, class, get out and help support your own class. The ring salesman was here in school last week with some bad news for the class. The xings will not be ready to hand out until March l. Licenses Of 10,000 Drivers Revoked SIN APPEAL One reason sinners are often so charming is tihat they do not parade their faults. But virtuous folk many times make themselves obnoxious by flaunting their virtues. Revised figures for the final few weeks of 1954 show that almost 10,000 persons had their drivers' licenses, chauffeurs' licenses or driving privileges revoked, suspended or cancelled in the first eighteen months under the new Drivers License Law, Secretary of State Charles F. Carpentier said last week. In the same period, 2,420,000 licenses ivere issued, including renewals, 485,000 more thorough examinations were given and more than 5,000,000 records involving 844,000 drivers were accumulated, Secretary Carpentier said. The records include reports of convictions for traffic law. violations, citation.. examination repoits, depositing of the driver's license in lieu of bond and similar actions, he said, In addition to the records pertaining to violations of the law or questionable driving habits, the Drivers' License department maintains a file of $,000,000 •records relating tb the '4,200,000 licensed drivers in Illinois, including their applications, changes of name or address and applications for duplicate licenses, Mr. Carpentier said. Another 16,000 cases involve records of reviews, interviews, warning letters, safety-responsibility suspensions and reinstatement of driving privileges, Secretary Carpentier said. "This tremendous work load has considerably exceeded the mqst intelligent estimates which coujld be made at the time the new Drivers' License law was passed," Secretary Carpentier said. ,M^he increased use of a driver license as bond, especially in the city of Chic^go, was a development which could not have been anticipated, and while it has meant .much more work for us, it is proving to be a most valuable tool in more efficient traffic law enforcement." • Lt* .
