As a result of the fire, one man losf his life and another was painfully burned and bruisei. The fire was caused by a defective chimney. Fred Schneider Dies-- - Frederick Schneider, who made this village and the immediate vicinity his home during his Entire life, passed away at 'his late hoine on Court street "last Thursday afternoon. The (deceased Buffered a stroke of paralysis on Monday afternoon of last week and this was the direct cause of his death. Parmer Robbed-- A man, giving his name as Julius Kerschner, appeared at the country home of Jacob Weingart last Saturday morning and applied for work. Bolger about 6 o'clock. An alarm was turned in and 'the local department was soon on the ground. Before long it was discovered that the smoke was also spreading into the adjoining room, which is occupied by Jacob Just en & Sons, as a furniture and undertaking establishment. The cause of the blaze is still undetermined. at Victory Memorial hospital, Waukegan. The deceased was born near Johnsburg on July 29, 1885, the daughter of Michael and Susan Freund. The Spring Grove community was saddened last Friday by the death of one of its 'pioneer residents, August Huff, 75, who passed away May 18 at St. Therese hospital, Waukegan.
