Dr. Cross called attention to traffic safety programs inaugurated by Gov. William G. Stratton, and said the success of such movements depended to a large extent on the willingness of the public to cooperate. MENTAL HEALTH WEEK Gov. William G. Stratton has proclaimed April 29 through May 5 as Illinois Mental Health Week. His proclamation called attention to mental disorders as a challenging present-day problem in Illinois and the entire nation. Mental Health Week is a time for fresh consideration of what can and must be done to treat those who are mentally ill, and means of preventing mental disorders. Majors of cities throughout Illinois are being asked to issue local Mental Health Week proclamations calling for community activities suited to the period. Complaint Department We have been asked to warn all you children riding bicycles after dark to have a light or reflector on your bikes. Just recently an unlighted bike was the cause of a near accident. This may not be hard on you children, but to the drivers it's hard on the heart. We're still getting a number of complaints about the dogs running loose through the subdivision. As the lawns are getting greener and the flowers are appearing, we can expect even more complaints.
