FARM DEADLINE Bert Bridges, chairman of McHenry county A.S.C. announces two important items for farmers interested in Soil Bank compliance. "First." said Mr. Bridges, "We want farmers to know that they may now sign up for the soil bank program at the county office any time up to and including July 20. And second, notice of an extension of time has been received by our office for those who intend to clip oats to comply with the acreage reserve. Farmers now have until July 15 to dispose of oats, rye, barley, etc.. on designated acreage reserve. Requirements remain the same -- the oats so placed in reserve must not have been grazed after June 22, and there can be no harvest or further "pasturing during 1956."
