He left by . plane for New York, where he transferred to an overseas airline. Last stop on the North American continent was at Newfoundland, where they took on fuel and provisions 'cause that ocean is wide and deep with no comforting islands along the way. The p'ane landed at Sola airport in Norway. Ray made the rounds of the large cities, which included Oslo and Stavanger, visiting, friends and relatives that he had not seen for thirty-* five years. A fabulous thrifl for Ray was viewing the midnight sun in Trondheim. Nature provided a special panorama by displaying a mother-of-pearl sky which the nattves claim has only been seen a few jtimes in the - last two hundred years. 0 Ray toured the entire country, taking in the spectacular scenes of mountains, fjords and modernistic cities. His farewell to his mother and sister was understandably sad, but he has hopes of seeing them again in a few years. It was an excitihg experience for Ray but we know how happy his ever lovin' wife* Elsie, was to see him again.
