At the super market, the three pretty clerks, Lottie and daugh- !% *er' PhyU's Piotrowski, and Myrtle Burg wore attractive pink nylon uniform^* and radiant looks as they took -care of customer needs, , All the youngsters in the community had a whale of a good time on the brightly colored carousel. Fellow •journalist, Art Stuhlfeier, on the first edition of his Newsletter, printed last week. The little bulletin will be published bi-monthly. Good luck, Art. Hawaiian Holiday . * Our good neighbor and hard 1 working mother, Charlotte Mc- Ouat, together with her lads, , George, Maury and Craig, departed for Hawaii by air. She was accompanied by her mother; Mrs. Maurice LeBoiisqiiet, who has nearly as many overseas trips to her credit as Capt. Ted Olsen--and, now all the boys yearn to be pilots for Uncle Sam. Imagine the tales of the South Pacific these youngsters will be able to tell their grandchildren. Dad McOuat is keeping the home fires burning during their absence, but we're betting tV»e house is big and lonely for him. George is as enthused about his new duties as his place of employment. He was disappointed at not beng able to make the trip also, but if he had, "Who would watch the £tore?" * Mrs. Gerald Burg. No hay ride party would be complete withput "eats" so the entire, group ended up at the beach, where a blazing fire awaited their arrival. Hot dogs, buns, marshmallows and fruit punch were consumed in huge quantities by the young "troops." . All of them were delivered home safely before midnight, .but it was truly a night to remember for the growing kids. They are looking forward to the winter season and an ice skating party, when the weather permits. Appointment Mrs. Irene Sales was appointed Democratic precinct .committee woman by Jessie Armstrong. They The»tf*ied To. Dp It! For the last fifteen years, at least, and finally did„ The George Baumbeeks tore themselves away from their pretty little home on ParfcYView West and made a trip .which covered 1100 miles. Heretofore, their furtherest journey was a trip to Wisconsin, not far above the state line! Betty, George and the two lads took in the thrills of Mammoth i Cave in Kentucky. Discovering the joy of the highway, they made a real trip of it and hied themselves to Nashville, Tenn. The family took another route which brought them home via Louisville, Ky. ,You would have to know the Baumbeeks to appreciate the enormity of their vacation trip. We understand that plans are under w$y for a trip to Alaska next year! August Hayride Our young 'teen agers wound up their summer fun with a rip roarin*- hay ride party last \yeek. He had been suffering from "an obstruction in the nose, consequently, a piece of bone was removed to correct the condition. Friday night, was the appearnce of Dick Olsen, Ole Olsen's eldest son. The fed, having passed his twenty- first birthday Aug. 10, had a desire to become acquainted with his half-brothers and sister, Tom, Ted and "new baby" Margie. His father was startled to learn that Dick had served as a staff sergeant in the Marines in Korea and was wounded. It has been seventeen years since his aunts and uncles last saw the handsome, strapping lad, who was then, a tow-headed, cute little boy of 4. Dick lives in the city with his mother, Mrs. Roger Reed, but has promised to return often. Imagine the' ecstasy grandma and grandpa Olsen will feel when their oldest grandchild is oij hand for their golden wedding anniversary - in October! Can't. Resist It Theresa and Willard Schultz are really imbued with the wander lust. Having very recently returned from a wonderful trip through the west and north, they took off again for Iowa. With another week's vacation granted them, they had to make one more journey to see Aunt Lil and Uncle Bill. The sweet couple regards the Schultzes as their children and couldn't love them more if they were. They had a marvelous trip and will probably be content to stay home for a little while, at. least. Isn't it quiet , around home with the kids back in school? Bye, bye for now, we'll see you next week.
