Mrs. Stewart was the daughter . of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Wheeler, ^who came from England. Mrs. wStewart was born in the little house just north qf towh where Mrs. Wardy lives now. Mr, Stewart was born near Keystone comers. Mrs. Stewart!^, bjrthdate was June 7, 1884, and "Mr. -Stewart's Nov. 13, 1885. The Stewarts were married at Mrs. Stewart's home by Rev. Barker, the Congregational minister from Richmond, on Dec. 5, 1906. The Stewarts have nineteen grandchildren and two greatgrandchildren. Sunday afternoon and evening they will have open house for all of their frlepds and neighbors and hope as many people aa can will attend. News of Servicemen Bud Jarre; was home last weekend from FOrt s Campbell, Ky. B!ll Harm is on leave from the Navy until Dec. 10. It's no wonder Marie Johnson looks so radiantly happy these last couple of weeks. Larry London was home for a while. Bob Miller was Tiome on a ^twelve-hour pass from Great Lakes Sunday. Mr. Johnson Sick We are sorry to hear that Don Johnson, eighth grade teacher, is in bed with virus pneumonia. He teaches physical education to all the children from ithird through eighth grades and tfcey air miss him from school. Mr. Jdhnsbn is ail^o coach for the grade school basketball team. We hope he will soon be well again. Brownie Party The Richmond Brownie troop celebrated its first birthday with a pot-luck supper and program for thpir parents andr the troop committee last week in the basement of Grace church. The Brownies acted as hostesses for the adu'ts, cleared the tables and washed the dishes Each of the parents received a little, Christmas pin that the Brownies had made. The dessert, was birthday cake decorated in Brownie colons and concocted by their leader, Mrs. Howard Ehrko. Both ivirs. Plowman and Mrs. Ehrke have -spent a lot of time with the . Brownies and the parents of the girls are grateful to them. • Kathy Bergsmaand Kathy Jackson tap danced for the program. Kathy Johnson read a Christmas poem, Donna "Plowman and Beverly Granger played songs, Donna Gargaro played the accordian. Patsy Harms was ttye mistress of ceremonies. News of Gu& Holmgren Gus Holmgren has been moved from St. Luke's hospital to the Illinois Research hospital for physical therapy. He has appreciated the many cards, visits and letters from fblks in Richmond and hopes that you will continue writing or visiting him. His new address |s: Neuro-psychiatric Institute 912 S. Wood street, room 465, Chicago, Illinois. The visiting hours are 2 to 8 p.m. New Neighbors The Wallenstein and Woodward families have moved to the farm that was once known as the horse farm. Mr. and Mrs. Wal-, lenstein and daughter, Pauline, live in one house. Their daughter, Mrs. Woodward, with her husband and two children live in the other house. Pauline is a senior in high school and come? from Melvin, 111., where she stayed to be in the class play. Debbie Woodward is in first grade at the Richmond grade school. McConnell was the speaker. Basketball News Last Friday, Richmond won ~f • --- two games from Sharon. The first game .was* a very exciting one. At the end of the first quarter, the teams were tied 16 all. At the ends&of the half, Sharon was leading 29-21. At the end of the third quarter, Richmond was leading 41-33. With two minutes left to "play," Richmond had 44 points while Sharon- had -10. In two minutes the score changed drastically so that Richmond won 62-46. The "B" squad won its fir$t game with a score of 4*9-23 Friday evening. Tomorrow night, Richmond will play at Clinton. Church News Sunday evening the Senior Hi Youth Fellowship met at Grace church with Dr- and Mrs. Jaeger as their guests. However, Dr. Jaeger had to answer two different calls for ' sick people and never did get tc complete the story he started to tell of how he was captured in 1945 by the Russians.and was a prisoner for three and a half years. The young people hope he will come back another time to tell his story and get better acquainted. Monday evening; the Church council rtiet at' the Lutheran parsonage. The Lutheran Women's guild had its Christmas party Monday evening in the church, with games and a grab bag. The ladies brought home-made cookies for the Nachusa Lutheran Children's home.
