There will be a grab bag consisting of one dollar gifts. WCOF Annual Christmas Party W.C.O.F., St. Clara's Court . No. 369, will hold its annual Christmas party on Dec. 13, with a pot-luck supper at 6:30 p.m. in the St. Mary's hall. All members are asked to brji&g a fifty cent gift for the grab bag and also a food item suitable for the nuns' pantry shower. Freuhd-Fenske Vows Exchanged A lovely wedding ceremony was performed in St. Mary's church at 11 o'clock' last Saturday, Dec. 1, when Miss Mary Kay ~ Freund, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George J. Freupd of McHenry, became the "bride 6f Mr. Arthur E. Fenske, son of the Arthur W. Fenskes of Chicago. The pretty bride approached the altar, attired in an Empire gown of silk yarn dyed taffeta, the long sleeved bodice accented by sequin and pearl embroidery. TTie princess line, gored skirt extended into a brush train worn over a Dior hoop skirt. Her French silk, illusion, fingertip length veil was held in place by a silk, seed pearl and sequin embroidered Juliet cap. She carried two white orchids and white and pink rosebuds. Acting as maid of honor Was a close friend, Miss Marie Stoffel, who wore a peacock blue sheath dress with chiffon panel extending down the back. A matching colored hat and .shoes completed her ehsenibie and she carried Fuji thums. For her daughter's .wedding Mrs. Freund chose a blue alencon, lace, sheath dress ^nd mauve accessories. Mrs. Fenske wore a champagne satin dress and matching, accessories. Both had orchid corsages. The bride graduated in 1951 from McHenry high school and has been employed by Illinois Bell Telephone company for Ihe I»st five and one-half years. One was given at the ELAINE VYCITAL SATURDAY BRIDE OF WILLIAM JtfELSON Miss Elaine Vycital, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold VycitaT of McCullom Lake, becamo the bride -of Mr. William Nelson, son of Mrs. Mabel Nelson of Richmond, Friday night, Nov. 30, nt the Community Methodist church. The Rev. J. Elliott Corbett officiated at the double ring ceremony. The lovely young bride camc down the aisle on the arm of h<?r father, gowned in white velvet street length dress with a white alencon lace bodice. Her headpiece was a small white velvet pillbox hat with a white alencon waist length lace veil. She carried white Fuji mums. Her maid-of-honor, Miss Caroline Millies of Chicago, was al.co dressed in white velvet, piped m yellow, and she carried yel'r.w Fuji mums, She wore a matching flower halo band. Elaine's younger sister, Lorene, not quite 3. was adorable as the wee flower girl. Her -little white velvet, princess dress was piped in pink, and on her head was a band of the pink mums which matched her pink Fuji mum bouquet. The groom's best man was his brother, Ted.' The mother of the bride was escorted to her seat by her sailor son, John, who is taking his boot training at Great Lakes. She wore a turquois^ chromespun two-piece dress, with black accessories, and a pink, white and yellow mum corsage. The bridegroom'^ mother, Mrs. Mabel Nelson, was attired in a dark green and gold print dress, With a pheasant feather hat, and wore a yellow mum corsage. The other usher was Donr.y Kattner of Richmond. About 100 guests were served a buffet style supper at the Am erickri Legion hftll following the ceremony. In addition to making the dresses for the bridal party, Mrs. Vycital prepared all the food for the dinner. Dancing went on during the evening. The yotins couple have moved into their attractive little home in Indian Ridge, Wonder Lake, where they are "at home" to their many, friends. FUTURE HOMEMAKERS On' Thursday, Nov. 29, the McHenry F.H-A. chapter held a business meeting. The meeting was called to orderly the vice-president and the roll was taken.. It was decided that the annual Christmas party would be neld on Thursday, ,Dec. 13. Committees were chosen. Refreshments,* . DOWE V* Of interest td their many friends in the McHenry commun ity was the marriage; last Saturday, Dec. 1, at 10:30 o'clock of Miss Gloria Grace keinhardt. daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Forrest J. Reinhardt of Pistakee Highlands, and Eugene J. Dowe, son Of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Dowe of McHenry. The ceremony was held in the rectory of St. Mary's Church with Rt. Ftfev. Stsgr. C. $. Nix officiating. Miss Mary Ellen Schneider, a close friend, of SUnnyside Estates, acted as maid of honor and Robert Pepping was best man. The bride chose a white, ballerina length gown of Dupaini silk, in princess style, With scoop neckline trimmed in seed pearls. Her skirt was bouffant, with a hoop. Miss Reinhardt wore a fingertip veil, attached to a cap trimmed in sequins and seed pearls,, and carried white roses and lilies of the valley. Miss Schneider chose a br'rial blue satin dress, princess style, and a matching net headpiece. Her flowers were pink carnations and white mums _. A dinner at the bride's home followed the ceremony, and later a reception for 150 guests was hold there, with a buffet supjier and dancing enjoyed. Both young people attended McHenry high school. The groom has completed two years in the Army and is now employed by Shur Construction company. They will make vheir home on Riverside Drive. After a delicious pot-luck dinner,, Christmas carols, led by Ed. Wittrock, were sung, Games, square dancing and opening of grab bag gifts made it an evening that the large attendance will long remember.
