She was Carol Jean Gartze, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hans Gartze. The bride was radiant in a white lace and net gown, with fingertip veil attached to a beaded headpiece. She carried white orchids. Sharon Roewer, a close friend of the bride, acted as maid of honor and her bridesmaid was Judith Nelson, another friend. Ronald Turk of Crystal Lake served as best man and James DeYoung was groomsmen. Dale Gartze, brother of the bride, and Lawrence Cynowa, the groom's brother, were ushers. For her daughter's wedding, Mrs. Gartze chose a two-piece suit in poudre blue, with which she wore a pink carnation and rose corsage. LAYNE BUCHER PRETTY BRIDE OF GERALD JURGENS A wedding of interest was solemnized at Pistakee Bay last Saturday, Feb. 1, at 6 o'clock when Miss Layne Bucher, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Huffmaster of Pistakee Bay, became the bride of Mr. Gerald Jurgens, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Jurgens of Algona, Iowa. Judge Charles Adams officiated at the nuptial rite before a fireplace banked with palms. Given in marriage by her step-father, the bride was pretty in a ballerina length gown of white net over satin, with inserts of lace and long tapered sleeves. Her fingertip, lace trimmed Veil fell from a seed pearl tiara and she carried a colonial bouquet of white roses. Miss Kay Bucher acted as maid of honor for her sister. She was attired in silver and gray net over taffeta .with a carnation headpiece and colonial bouquet of pink roses. Richard Lapointe served as best man, both he and the bridegroom wearing their Navy uniforms. The bride's mother chose a white wool sheath with pink bolero, and orchid corsage. Mrs. Jurgens was attired in a navy blue dress with which she wore an orchid corsage. A reception for forty guests followed the ceremony. The bride wa$ a student nurse at St. Therese hospital, Waukegan, and the groom is stationed with the Navy at Great Lakes. They will make their home in Waukegan.
