Mrs. Behrendt served dinner to friends and relatives honoring her on her birthday. .Relatives from out of town included the honored guests' sister and son. Harold, her only son, resides with his family in -Arlington Heights. Mrs. Behrendt's sister, Mrs. Philip Enck, and husband are from Chicago. Moved Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Watson and family have left our community this past week. They have been residents here for the past year and a half. Mr.. Watson was employed locally as a mechanic. Besides visiting with friends and relatives, the "whole family took a tour of the Field Museum. This was the children's first trip to a museum. Enjoying it so much, they plan on going back real soon. GAS COMPANY'S RECORD BROKEN TWO COLD DAYS Northern Illinois Gas company's twenty-four hour sendout record was broken on both Sunday and Monday, Feb. 9 and 10, during current cold wave. The former record of 461 millidn cubic feet of gas used during a noon-to-noon period on Jan. 17, 1957, first was exceeded on Feb. 9 by about six million cubic feet, and the newest peak came Feb. 10 as 485 million cubic feet was used by the utility's approximate 600,- 000 customers. This includes, about 247,000 who heat their homes with gas, approximately 18,000 more than when the 1957 record was established. According to E. D. Sheehan, vice-president in charge of operations, the utility used its daily pipeline supply of about 350 million cubic feet during both record - breaking periods as well as approximately 111 million cubic feet the first day, and 132 million the second, from the Herscher underground storage reservoir.
