Our St. Patrick's day dance, held March 15, was a great success. Many thanks to all those who helped make it so, and also thanks , to the men who who gave us this opportunity. Hazel Struwe was our birthday girl of the Month. Moose Haven Chairman Dorothy Jepson was unable to attend the meeting, so Doris Lou helped with the committee. Hazel Bowman PUBLIC PULSE THE HARTLAND HOME The shame of the Hartland home and also) the blame must be placed on the Republicans in this county. They have prided themselves in keeping this county Republican for all these years. Failure to pass the bond issue must be placed squarely on them slnce the voting power is theirs by 3 to 1. The state, under Republican administration, has slipped to a shameful low -- thirty-fifth place in care of our mentally ill. We are on a par with some of the poor Southern states. They at least can blame it on their economic situation! Quite a record for one of the richest counties in one of the richest states in the Union. Let's forget politics for a change and start thinking about human beings!!! You do ftot have to take a party ballot to vote for the bond issue. Abe Lincoln, the champion of the down-trodden, would be horrified to see how we treat ours.
