CHURCH NOTE Miss Shirley ^Berthoux of Huemann's subdivision and Mr. Harold Nye of McHenry exchanged nuptial vows last Saturday, April 12, in a beautiful service solemnized in St. Patrick's Catholic church at 10 o'clock. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Charles Mears and the groom is the son. of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Nye. Earl Conway, was soloist for the Ceremony, singing "Ave Maria" and "On This Day O Beautiful Mother". The church was decorated with bouquets of pink and white iflowers. Miss Berthoux was charming in an £lencon lace and silk taffeta dress with chapel length train, featuring an empire waistline, sabrina neckline and long sleeves, pointed at the wrist. Her headpiece was a wreath of apple blossoms and tulle. The bride carried a white rose cascade bouquet, outlined with pink rosebuds. She was attended by Mrs. William Noel" of Chicago, her sister as matron of honor and by Mrs. Clarence Funke of Collinsville, also a sister, Miss Mary Nye of McHenry, sister of the groom," and Mrs. Edward Zender of Chicago, a friend, as bridesmaids. All Were attired similarly in gowns of blue silk taffeta, ballerina length, styled with short sleeves, sabrina neckline and cummerbund with bow in the back. They wore matching shoes and headpieces and carried pink camellias and white apple blossoms. All had wrist gloves in white. Dintier will precede the show from 7 to 8:30 o'clock DISTRICT WOMEN'S GROUP IN ANNUAL APRIL 24 The annual meeting of the Eleventh district of the Illinois Federation of Women's Clubs will be held Thursday, April 24, at the Gary Memorial church, corner of Main and Seminary, Wheaton, with the Woman's Department club of Wheaton as hostesses. Registration will be at 9:15 p.m., a board meeting at 9:30 for all district officers and chairmen, counJty and club presidents. The meeting will be called to order at 10 o'clock. Reservations for lunch must be made by April 21 to Mrs. Robert Titus, 1019 James Court, Wheaton. Luncheon will be served at 12:30. ruffles and a white ruffled headpiece. The bride is a 1955 graduate of the McHenry high' school and is employed in the McHenry State Bank. The groom graduated in 1950 from the local high school, served four years in the Navy and is now employed by the First State Bank of Round Lake. Weber of 402 Main street, became the bride of Mr. William Neumann, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. William Neumann of Chapel Hill. The couple exchanged vows at a "double ring ceremony performed at 11 o'clock, with Rev. Fr. William Collins Officiating. The altars were attractively decorated for the occasion with pink and white. flowers. The bride's mother was organist for the wedding and her brother, Bill, was soloist, singing "Aye Maria" and "On This Day 6 Beautiful Mother". Miss Weber was radiant in a White satin, floor length gown, with chantilly lace, trimmed in pearls and sequins at the neck and bodice. It was made for her by the groom's mother. Her fingertip veil of tulle1 and headband of seed pearls was worn by the bride's twin sister, Joan Murphy, St her wedding just two years-* previous. She carried a cascade bouquet of white roses centered with an orchid. Miss Ann Weber acted as maid of honor for her cousin, wearing a white organdy dress with dainty embroidered flowers, accented with orchid sash, and shoes and headband of the same color. She carried white roses with orchid streamers. The bridesmaids were Henrietta Haroldson and Marge Conley, friends of the bride, who choSe dresses of the same style as the maid of honor, acented with a pink sash and shoes and h&adbahds of pink. They ^carried similar bouquets, with pink streamers. Bernard Peschke, friend of fhe .groom, served as best man and groomsmen were Norman Silge, brother-in-lawF of the !»room, and Thomas Greifhahn, cousin of the groom. Ushers were Bill Weber, brother of the bride, and Floyd Haroldson, a friend. The bride's mother chose a wedgewood blue, shantung suit with matching accessories and a white camellia corsage. Mrs. Neumann was attired in a beige sheath dress, with beige and amber accessories, and a white camellia corsage. Following the service, breakfast was served for fifty guests at the Legion home at 1 o'clock. The bridegroom is a graduate of the ]WeHenry high school with the^ class of: 1954, served two years in the Army and is employed by Neumann's Decorating Service. Edith Jones Wed Saturday A lovely wedding took place at the GreenWood Methodist chutch last Saturday evening, April 12, at 7 o'clock when Edith Harrison Jones, daughter of the Roy Harrisons of Rmgwood, became the bride Of Mr. E. Boyd Dowell, son of the Clyde Dowells of McHenry! Rev. Gardner Wyman officiated at the ceremony. Hie double ring service was performed before an altar decorated with baskets of flowers arid lighted candles.' Music was furnished' by Mrs. Robert Svo» boda. , „ The bride given in marriage by her father, chose a ballerina length, Alice- Blue gown, with white charftilly lace, inserts. She wore a Juliet cap of blue velvet and carried a satin-wrapped Hdly Bible which had belonged to her grandmother. On it were placed pink and white sweetheart roses. Mrs. Camille R. Swan, a close friend, acted as matron of honor, wearing a light tan, satin dress and Juliet cap and carrying pink flowers. Robert Svoboda served as best man and ushers were David and Donald Harrison, nephews of the bride. Mrs. Harrison selected a navy printed silk dress with which she wore white accessories and a pink and white camellia corsage.
