NEW OFFICIAL COUNTY ROAD MAP AVAILABLE SOON The problem of locating residents of McHenry county, outside of the well established and older towns, may have been lessened recently when the county board adopted a new road map, which contains an entirely new system of numbering square mile blocks. "The century old, complicated township and section numbering system, as displayed in all published platbooks, is as out-moded as the horse and buggy for locating residents today", said Ernest Schroeder of Crystal Lake, assistant supervisor" of Nunda township and chairman of the land and lots committee, in recommending adoption of the new map aa the official road map of the county. The new map, which will be off the press in another month or so, will number each square mile with a different number, starting in the northwest corner of the county with number one and ending in the southwest corner with number 624. George Jedlicka, secretary and enforcing officer of the county zoning board, indicated that this new map will be especially helpful to citizens of the county in locating Jheir property, if everyone will becoriie as familiar with his block number as town residents are with their street numbers,. "If they will give us their block number in making inquiries at I our office, we can help them more efficiently, because--we know what is in that square mile." Assistant Supervisor Leroy Smith of McHenry and member of the Land and Lots Committee, is heading an effort to get road names of the principal roads in the county esta- HUNDREDS TAKE ^ ADVANTAGE OF I TB X-RAY SURVEY Hundreds of county residents have been taking advantage of the state mobile x-ray unit which has been in* the various communities this month. Nay lor, reported that to date, 1,443 students from first grade and freshman classes in the county have been given the tuberculin test, of which sixty-six had a positive reaction. They and their contacts are referred, to their family physician, or may have x-rays and further check-ups at the Lake county clinic at the expense of the association. Twenty-$Wsn patients were admitted to the tuberculosis sanitorium for care during the past year. At present, ten patients are receiving out-patient treatment.
