Since this was the last pack meeting of the year the annual inspection was. held. The boys were g r a d e d on u n i f o r m a n d t h e correct position of the insignias. Air the boys passed with flying colors. Den 3 was in charge of the flag ceremony, the opening, closing and refreshments. Ten mothers supplied pop, coffee and delightfully decorated cupcake^ The cubs all received their bobcat pins. The following boys also received their wolf badges: Eddie Atkins, Tommy Bostler, Dwayne Brossman, Mike Dorsey, Kenny Schuerr, Bobby Tobias, Darrel Whynot and Andy Patellaro. Bobby and Darrel received a gold arrow and Richie Hickman a gold a r r o w a n d a s i l v e r a r r o w . These arrows are awarded for extra achievements. A big hand to these boys for their good vtfork. Nathan (Butch) Lubke received his den chief's cord. A well thought out skit was put on by Den 9 called "Circus Days." Thanks Den 9. brated her fourteenth birthday on May 18, with three of her closest girl friends, Nancy Chadwick, Maryanne Sossong and Diane Kibbe going to the theatre and then to a pizza party. Mr. anc^Mrs. Walter Beihl were Chicago visitors over the w e e k e n d , w h e r e M r s . B e i h l celebratpd her birthday, which was on May 19. Richard H^att celebrated his big day on May 15. Harry Brady, police magistrate, celebrated his day on May 16. Many happy returns .from all of us to all of you. L.I.A. On Wednesday, May 14, the club members ipet at the Hyatt home to make plans for the card and bunco party to be held at the Fire-communityhouse on Aug. 16. Also their ahnual get-together which will bie a smorgasbord dinner which the members will donate a good portion of the food. The rrlembers expect to have a nice gfrmp gather for this affair on Sept. 13. There will be no meeting for the month of June, btit will have a short meeting July 9 to settle all arrangements for the party on Aug. 1$. Folks make a note of this dkte, for the proceeds will go for the library that we are Working so hard to get completed. Personals On Mother's Day, Mrs. John Sovosky was presented a beautiful set of chinaware from her three daughters from Chicago. Mrs. Frank Harder Has:been confined to her home this past week with. the flu bug. Hope to see you up and about real soon. Older residents were pleasantly surprised when Rheinhold iHintz visited with them and reminisced of old times. Mr. Hintz was the owner of Lakeside Inn and now lives with his family in Neosho, Mo. f._. Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Sundt celebrated their wedding anniv e r s a r y t h i s p a s t w e e k w i t h friends and relatives in attendance. this past week from a friend of the girl who was accidentally shot at Fish Lake a couple o f w e e k s a g o . T h e l e t t e r thanked our officers for the escort to the McHenry hospit a l w h i c h h e l p e d s a v e t h e girl's life. We can certainly be proud to have such an efficient force to handle anything that they are called for. Unusual Gift For Mother's Day Jen Mc- Dermott received a "Muumuu" gown from her son (Sonny) who is stationed in Hawaii. The gown is a beautiful blue silk and worn by the women of Hawaii everywhere because it's so cool and easy to care for. Now Jen is wondering where she will be able to wear it. A Mistake Yes, folks, I still write your Lakemoor news. Released from Hospital Norman Williams, son of Mr. and Mrs. Norman Williams of Lilymoor, former resident here, returned home franjt;the Evan*- ton hospital, this past week a n d i s l o o k i n g r i g h t s m a r t with his crew cut that the surgeons gave him. He underwent surgery from the result of an accident on his motorcycle. Norman is still very weak and is troubled with the twentythree stitches in his leg. He must take it very easy for some time yet, but we are all very haippy for him to be up and; around. His many friends can call on him at his home, to help' make the long days go along a little faster. A Reminder On June 14, a dance for the benefit of the Lakemoor Community house will be held at the community house. A grand time is expected to be had by all who attend, let's make this a big affair and have fun together. Keep this date in mind, June 14. Sympathy The friends and neighbors of the Norman Morrisons extend thejfr sympathy to Mr. Mosnsojr on the passing of his grandfather, which wa£ a shock to the whole family. Mom reports that neither one was really sick, so that left her to be the one to stay inside with them and this made her sick.
