Also to Darlene Smolinski who had some of her girl friends over for a party, on May 16. Mrs.' Haddock entertained a friend of hers during the weekend. She enjoyed the pleasant hours they spent. Floyd Johnson's mother, Mrs. Spankuch's mother and Mr. Schlick's, mother are a few of the many mothers who enjoyed a day in the Highlands. Marie Schlickt Mr. Wedlock and Don Bentz have been catching fish like crazy, so Mrs. Taylor is volunteering to make them a fish dinner Friday. Style Show Marie Schlick has been incited by her daughter, Bar bara, to attend the style show held by Barb's homemaking class on May ,21. - Attends Dinner Last Wednesday Harriet Wilson and Marilyn VanZevern attended the Girl Scouts Leaders' dinner held at the American Legion in McHenry. While they were at the dinner, Mary M a d o c k and grandmother Madock enjoyed a picnic lunch in the park with the kiddies. Republican Women's club Mary Madock and Marilyn VanZevern were among the women who attended the dinner for the Republican women's club last Tuesday. Bowling Anyone, A few more °bowlers are needed to fill up the summer •league. This is a mixed league and they bowl on Thursday at 8. Anyone interested in this ten week league can, sign up by calling Marilyn VanZevern, 2695, or sign up at the bowling alley in Johnsburg. Teen Club News At Lola DuPree's party Saturday night, her dad suggested a dance contest. Everyone responded whole-heartedly. The first prize went to Terry Phillips and Lola and second prize to Barbara Schlick and Don Bentz. 'Teens from the Highlands had a good time at the Prom. From the prom they went to the Wing and Fin where they were entertained by-the RCrew Cuts", from there to breakfast at the V.F.W. in McHenry, and then to Petrified Springs, Kenosha, Wis. for a picnic. Wow, what a schedule! The 'teen club also wants to Sea Scout News Tiie Sea Scouts are just putting the finishing touches of paint on their whale boat, and their hopes are high for launching it this Saturday morning. If the boat is ship-shape they intend to take it out for a trial run and practice rowing. They also are working on a. smailer boat they received from Mr. Marshall of Johnsburg, which they intend to sell. There will be two more members taken into the Sea Scouts tonight. They are Terry Phillips and Gary ARosenthreader. Down Meadow Lane Last evening saw president George VanZevern installing new steel clothes posts for his wife. Anything to make it a little easier for the little woman. Kay Sielisch has been having company ^lately. Mae Pinkham came and spent a few hours last week and Mrs. Dorothy Rose, a nurse's aid from the McHenry hospital called on Kay Friday evening to see how she was doing. Kay I was glad to see them, it the long hours. What grandfather was seen testing his grandson's two wheeler? And enjoying it too. Vegetables anyone?? Frank and Judy Krumwiede have put in a huge garden with everything in the vegetable line. They have such a beautiful' garden every year and this one, should surpass any of the previous years. Dickie Morley has joined all the other boys of the two wheeler set. Kay Sielisch is afrara she will gain all the weight she lost during her recent illness, all her friends and, neighbors have been bringing her so many goodies, she is getting spoiled, but so grateful to everyone. Lee Conway and Marilyn Lammert spent a few hours over at Hazel Morley's last Tuesday. The girls enjoyed a small lunch and lots of coffee. Donna and Cheryl TOmoa have been stopping to see Kay Sielisch: most every evening after school. LUymoor WEEKLY PICKUP FURNISHED BY ASSOCIATION by Laura Belford The Lilymoor association will again furnish weekly sanitary service for all regular and summer members beginning on Wednesday, June 4. The truck makes early morning pick-up so if you're not an early riser, it's best to . bring your twentygallon covered containers to the curb the night before. Fifty- five gallon drums are not acceptable for pick-up. Large new membership cards are being distributed to each member family. Norman was seriously injured several^ Weeks ago in a motorcycle mishap. He will be confined to his home under doctor's care, probably for several weeks. German measles ran rampant through the last several weeks. Several youngsters were confined for several days. Cousin Goes To Australia Steve Wijas' cousin, Eleanor Wijas, of Chicago appointed to Australia. As a Catholic nun, ..Sister Maria, as she is now know, and three other sisters, will report to the same mission in the country, 'down under*.
