Party Honors Two Graduates Miss Arlene Nechrebecki and Miss Joanne Hughes, both recent graduates of St. Therese school of nursing in Waukegan, Were honored at a recent lawn party held at the Hughes home, With parents of both girls as hostesses. About eighty guests were present to enjoy a delicious lunch and a social hour. Annual Lawn Party At St. Patrick's The annual lawn card party sponsored by the St. Patrick's Altar and Rosary sodality will be held Wednesday, July 30 at 1:30 p.m., on the lawn of the rectory. Mr, and Mrs. Leo Diedrich of Johnsburg are celebrating their twenty-fifth wedding anniversary on July 12. There will be a high Mass at 9 o'clock at St. Jphn's church in Johnsburg. There will be open house at their home after 7 p.m. DEANERY HOLBS OPEN MEETING AT St. MARY'S Busy Stitchers Elect Officers A group of women known as the Busy! Stitchers held a meeting recently at the home of Mrs. Jane Kalk, for the purpose of electing officers. The following were chosen; Barbara Schmaling, treasurer; Frieda Olsen, scrap book secretary; Ann Holden.-social secretary; and Jennie Covalt, special occasion secretary. The club meets every two weeks for an evening spent in sewing. Mrs. Catfol Sek was a guest at this meeting. Besides the officers, members include Elaine Schmaling, Muriel Etten, Marion Kane, Jean O'Brien, Jean Maddock and Florence Falsetti. Jean O'Brien was hostess for this week's gathering. Garden Club Meets For Luncheon The next regular meeting of the McHenry Garden club will be held Tuesday, July 29, at the home of Mrs. J. J. Gruenfeld. Luncheon will be served at 1 o'clock. Mary Lou Pfeffer Is Engaged Mr. and Mrs. W. Pfeffer of i Crystal Lake, announce the engagement of their daughter, Mar^ Lou to Jerry Cristy, son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Cristy of Ringwood. Catholic church in Chicago, June 28. Miss Nancy Litke, daughter of Mrs. Frank Litke of Chicago and former resident of McHenry, became the bride of Mr. Walter Rasifiussen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Rasmussen of 824 South street, Cooney Heights, McHenry. Rev. Fr. Thomas Dolan officiated at the 11 o'clock double ring ceremony. The bride, who was given in marriage by her uncle, Joseph Litke, was lovely in a gown of white silk organza made with a sweetheart neckline. Her fingertip veil was held in place by a Juliette cap accented with ijearJs. She carried a bridal bouquet, of white orchids and stephanotis. : • Miss Ruth JPhajuienstill,,; a friend, was maid of honor, and Judi Russell, Cicero, and Sandy Schwaller of Arlington Heights were bridesmaids. The groom graduated from St. Gregory high school in Chicago and is employed in Chicago where they will make their home. Kenneth Vasey and Donald Smith of McHenry acted as groomsmen for their friend. A reception was held at the V.F.W. hall in McHenry for 175 guests. Refreshments consisting of punch, cookies, doughnuts and coffee were served by the Christian Mothers' Altar and Rosary society of St. Mary's headed by Mrs. Vincent Adams, their president.
