Gleason, Jr. and Mayor Daley of Chicago addressed the women during one of the sessions. A forum, dealing with rehabilitation was held at Orchestra Hall with entertainrant offered by the patients at Downey Veterans' , hospital, Great Lakes. According to the statistics, there we*e 1,387 delegates, 367 alternates, and 13 guests, making a total Of 1,767 women attending. Because of excessive rains, the stream behind the house flooded and threatened the chicken coop, and all the fowl therein! The brave ones, including Mrs. McCarty,/waded out in the deep, cold water, and transported the chickens to higher ground. Never a dull moment. Mrs. Wolf, widowed, and formerly of California, is now making her home with Pearl and Wyn. Teens To Meet The 'Teensters of the village will hold their regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, Aug. 12 at 7:30 p.m. in the beachhouse. The kids are meeting with great success in their Saturday night dances at the beach. The only problem is obtaining chaperones. If you haven't served your stint as .yet, please give the young folks a hand and volunteer. There are plenty of parents in the community and surely one Saturday wouldn't be too -great a sacrifice! How about it? Night Campers Leaving the comfort of their inner spring mattresses and nice linens, ten of your small fry decided to try nature's way, and sjept out under the stars. Five lads, Mickey Reid. Teddy Olsen, Eddie Koch, Geoffrey Houck, and J. R. Levesque, bedded down in two tents. Before they retired, they feasted on hot dogs, eggs, bacon, (which they fried outdoors) milk, and all the trimmings. The girls included Diane and Berenice Bjork, Chryssie and D. D. Levesque, and Lynne Schultz. The little gals built their own tent of old blankets which they commandeered from their homes and lacked for nothing. The grand weather we've been enjoying made the outings feasible. ^ Ehcased ih Plaster Mrs. Lillian McCarthy returned from McHenry .hospital last Wednesday, after spending three days there. During this time, the broken Teg which she suffered as a result of an auto accident some weeks ago had to be re-cast. Mrs. McCarthy is now encased in plaster from under her arm pits right down to the toe of her left leg. While she is confined to her bed, Mrs. McCarthy is being cared for by friend, Mrs. Martha Wiebers of Enden, 111.
