Jack Couglin would aM>reciate having anyone contact himself they are interested in the formation of an Eastwood Manor League. Warren Krebs also showedlfterature on atomic fall-out and as several people were interested ii was suggested that a group might be formed to discuss this subject. The Sacrament of Holy Communion will be celebrated and the message based upon the Lord's Stopper will be given. As usual, * service will be held in the Community Barn of Eastwood Manor. However, as mentioned last week, the time has been changed to J1 a.m. with church school at 9:30 a.m. Some of the women of Faith Presbyterian church will spend the day attending the fall meeting of the Presbyterial of Freeport on Wednesday, Oct. 8, at ^pVes Park, Roqkfprd. - Girl Scout DriVe The annual Girl Scout drive was a huge success thanks to> the work of Marilyn Fultz, Betty*Radner, Hannah Harner and Rita Simpson. These girls spent two days last week going from door to door in our community and are to be praised for all- the time and effort that they put into' this proje^t^ Happy Birthday to Robert Couglin, who celebrated his: first birthday on Wednesday, Sept. 24 With a party for all his little friends. Those helping Bob celebrate were Pam Radner, Steve and Martha Simpson, Theresa and Margie Birmingham, Gail, Mike and Maureen McCormack, Jeanne Lessard and his brothers, Jim and Mike. Happy birthday also to Diane Rogers, who will be two years old tomorrow, to Mae Miller, Hattie Schwabauer and John Couglin, who wiil all celebrate their birthdays on Sunday and to Sharo.n White, who will chalk up another year next Tuesday. Happy Anniversary to Pat and Bob Kellogg, who will celebrate seven years of wedded bliss on Saturday, Oct. 4. New Arrival 'Kevin Thomas is the name chosen by Patsy and John Coughlin for their new arrival. Kevin arrived at 4 p.m. on' Thursday. Sept. 25 at Memorial hospital. He weighed in at 6 lbs. 14 oz. and was 20 inches long at birth. Kevin has three brothers. Jim, Mike and Bob. It looks like the beginning of a future basegali team. Sick List We are glad to report that Dan Mathes is now on the road to recovery after spending two days in McHenry hospital, suffering with echo virus. We also hear' that Bob Grom is coming along nicely after undergoing minor surgery on his jaw on Tuesday, Sept. 22. This and That Jackie and Michael Dalton enjoyed their weekend visit to the home- of their Grandma Connell in Oak Park. They spent the weekend of Sept. 20' visitin^sand while there Jackie attended} a wedding with his, grandma while Michael visited with his Aunt Alice. 4 Mr. and Mrs. Charles Johnson and son, Mark, of Barrington, spent Sunday, Sept. 21 at the Jerry Ryan home. The Elmer Urbans, Frank Woolwins, Glen Messers and Lon Campbells all joined.forces on Sunday, Sept. 21, at the Campbell home for a surprise birthday party in honor of Gil, Moore's birthday. T. Barnett, of Warwick, Va.„ are spending two weeks visiting with Peg, Walt arid the children. They arrived on Sunday evening, Sept. 28. We bet Debbie and David are enjoying their visit with grandma and grandpa. Julie arid Bill Schmidt enjoyed a visit with Bilft father, John Schmidt, of Melrose Park, when he spent last weekend at the Schmidt home. Betty and Ed Radner, Patsy and John Couglin, Lois and Tim McCormack, Marge arid John Sheehy, Marilyn and Jack Fultz and Lois McCormack was the hostess on Monday, Sept. 22 for a demonstration. Those present were Pre Lindemann, Lois Ryan, Betty Radner, Ger ry Wood, Dolores Lawrence, Helen Birmingham, Rita Simpson, Peg Garrelts, Lydia Fenner, Marilyn Fultz, Margaret Pickett, Georgia Sigman, Emily Smithson and Lois Krebs, all of Eastwood Manor, Lucille Doherty of Ingleside and Johanna 'Crowley of Crystal Lake. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed all the delicious homemade pastry. Thirty guests were present at a party at the home of Mim Hansen on Tuesday evening, Sept. 23. We all had fun, especially those who relived their chijdhood by getting down on the floor andf playing with the toys. Pat and Bob Kellogg attended a farewell dinner at the home of Pat's folks, Mr. and Mrs. Potter, in Fistakee Bay, on Saturday levening, Sept. 27, for Pat's sister and brcther-inlaw, Barbara end Lloyd Baldwin, who are moving to Indianapolis, Ind. Meet Yaour Neighbors The Glen Messer family, of 101 Country Lane, moved into their home on April 26, 1957. Dottie and Gl^ii are the proud parents of Douglas, who was 4 years old Jn , May, and David, who had his first birthday in September. Glen is employed by an envelope company in Melrose Park. Both Dottie and Glen enjoy bowling and hoirie movies as hobbies and Dottie also lists cake decorating, at which she exceils. Dotie and Glen met while both of tnenL. were serving in the Air Force in Florida. Dottie was born and ^raised in Trenton, N. J. and Gleijl hails from Melrose Park. The Gilbert Moore family, of 105 Country Lane, moved into their home ^n Sept. 27, 1957. GiLJs a meat cutter working ,for*l chain store in Lake Forest and Larry is employed as a waitress at a boat club. They are the parents of four children, Ricky, the eldest, was 11 on July 17 and his only brother, Dennie, was 9' the following day. Maureen was 6 in September and " Kerrie Lynn turned four in June. Gil is an avid fisherman and hunter in his spare time and Larry lists bowling and swimming as her hobbies. Both Larry and Gil were born and raised in Chicago. , • That's it for this week folks.
