Once a year, we grownups get a chance toilet our imaginations run wWl. A Hallowe'en party is an excellent excuse to curb our conservative moods. Maybe you can get a group together and plan your costumes. The elderly gentleman slipped within the house and broke his hip. John Schaefer was also taken to the Woodstock hospital by ambulance last week suffering frojn a hip dislocation. Mr. Schaefer has made his home with the George Oeffling Sr. family for the last couple of years. Accident Victim Bill Haag. returned to his home Sunday afternoon after spending a few days in an Evanston hospital. On his way to work Friday 0Bill was the victim of an auto colision. After ai few days rest Bill should be feeling fit once again. Double Celebration Gathering at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Thelen last Sunday were: Mr. and Mrs. Vern Thelen and family, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Thelen and family, Mr. and Mrs. James Hunter and son and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Aldenbrook and sons. The occasion was the celebration of John and Agatha's thirty-fifj:h wedding anniversary. Their actual wedding date is Oct. 17. To make this gathering twice as festive, a birthday cake was baked to honor the second natal day of little Joey Aldenbroo" k. Around the Town Mr. and Mrs. Dick Guyser motored to Detroit, Mich, last weekend to attend the wedding of a relative. Guests in the home, of Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Michels recently were Mr. and Mrs. John Bugner of Alvada, Ohio and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Bugner and Hettermann-s softball team, their wives and families, and quite a few followers traveled to New Munster last Sunday for their annual exhibition game with the home team. Although Hettermann's were on the losing end, everyone had lots of fun and laughs. Girl Scouts and Brownie News Troop 135 curbed their business matters when they met last Monday, afternoon in the community club hall. The leaders and the girls celebrated the first anniversary of the t r o o p s e x i s t e n c e . B r o w n i e Troop 40 were"their guests for the afternoon. Cake and ice cream followed by games were enjoyed by all present. Village of Sunxxyside H. The Wednesday afternoon I Brownie troop which meets weekly in the Peterson home welcomed, their newest member, Mary Catherine Frederick. This now makes this group a complete troop. The girls cut and pasted pictures with which to cover their boxes. Jo A n n , Freund was cookie hostess for the afternoon. Trees George Schuman's tree proposal has been accepted and we will all have trees planted along the edges of our properties by the village. The trees to be planted are all fairly good in size and it should greatly improve the beauty of our village. Troop 295 welcomed a new member into their group last week also. Betty Hemplemann is the new member's name. The girls played games while the newest members finished their felt headbands. Halloween Party Oct. 24 from 3 until 5 We have a Slight change in our Halloween party plans. Invitations are being sent to all the families in the village and replies are requested so there wiil be enough prizes and refreshments for all the children who will attend. Boy Scouts William Creutz would like some of us to volunteer-to "go door to door to help raise funds for t he Boy Scouts of McHenry area.
