'•Company of the Taylors came out to visit them that foggy night, they missed the road and went into the lake. The Bentz family journeyed to Whitewater, Wis., Saturday. The turkey party at the center Sunday afternoon had a terrific turnout. Both Carl and Blanche , .Haefliger had a busy evening Thursday. Blanch attended a ~^st matrons dinner and Carl ^participated in past masters night at his lodge. Both events were held in Chicago. Delia and Bob Wesselink attended a wedding in Chicago Sunday. Marcia and Eddie Dowd attended {fie wedding of one of their school chums in Chicago Saturday. Women's Club At their regular monthly meeting held last Wednesday, the girls coughed up money like mad, as they had to pay a penny for each inch of their waistline. They worked on different projects and played a few games. Hostesses for the evening were Hazel Morley, Audrey Misavice, Kay Reilly and Darlene Neesan. Happy birthday to Johnny Conway who was 4 years old on the seventeenth and to his big brother Michael who was 11 on the twenty-fifth. The family celebrated by visiting grandma and grandpa in Chi-, cago. Happy birthday to Lois Mason. She will celebrate on the thirtieth. Mrs. Bob VanZevern spent last Friday shopping in Waukegan. Dud Gregg and his father-inlaw, Mr. Harris, have returned from a hunting trip. They brought home twelve pheasants from Olwien,. Iowa. Some hunting. A speedy recovery is, wished for Muriel Peterson who underwent surgery list week at the Great Lakes Naval hospital. We hope she will be up and around soon. George Lammert was home a few days last week, nursing a sore leg. Lois Mason's sister, Shirley Neuer and family, and her mother-in-law and another sister, Bee, spent Thanksgiving with Lois and Tom. They enjoyed the traditional turkey, dressing and all the trimmings. Happy anniversary to Mr. and Mrs. Ed Kent who celebrated forty-two years of married life on the twenty-second of November. It's a Girl Little Nancy Joan VanZevern was born on Nov. 17 at the Woodstock hospital. She weighed 7 lbs. 15 ozs. Georgie and Julie Ann are looking forward to seeing their new sister. We would also like to add that George pulled through the whole thing fine. Aunt Marilyn took care of the children while Mama Marilyn was in the hospital. Sick List Jeanne Janquart was home sick with a sore throat and little Jerry was suffering from asthma. Susan and Michael Conway were home sick with sore throats and colds. Laura Gregg was home about a week.. Her tonsils decided to give her some trouble. She is much better now. We are sorry to report that it was necessary for Ed Kent to have his leg amputated last Tuesday at St. Therese's hospital in Waukegan. ,-<• We hope that he will be home and feeling better real soon. Attends Wedding Betty and Milt Sandelin attended the wedding of Betty's younger sister, Dorothy. Betty says it was a beautiful wedding and reception. Betty and Milt stayed overnight in Hinsdale. Darleen Neesen, Kay Sielisch,, Beverly Leandowski, jane Malek, Millie Shastel, Barb Sisk, Mary Madock and Hazel Morley attended a progressive card party at Betty Sandelin's heme last Monday evening. The girls all had a good time and devoured all the tasty refreshments. PageThlrieen Christmas Decorating . At this time of the year people are planning their Christmas lists and thinking of ideas for the holiday season. This year there will be another contest for the best decorated home. This of course is the exterior. This does ftot mean that you have to spend lots of money for decorations, sometimes just lights strung on the. outside of your home can be beautiful. Last year there were many who put up decorations of some kind or another and we had a very pretty community. There will be three prizes; first $55 Savings Bond; second $15 and third $10. Let's really I light up Pistakee Highlands this Christmas. Sunnyside Estates NEW MEMBERS GET BUREAU RECIPE BOOKS / From A,to Z The RfcHenry County Home Bureau tea, was not only mentally stimulating, but delightfully entertaining as well. Mrs. Mary Rose, as one of the speakers, did an excellent job on explaining the meaning of Home Bureau extension relationship. After induction of new members refreshments were served and a game of treasure hunt was played. The ladies had to list the name of the guest wearing hidden articles. As a special remembrance of their induction, each new member received a marvelous cook book made up of favorite recipes of Home Bureau families. Attending were the Mesdames H. Kobus, J. Leakey, K. Reece, B. Schweiger, and, B. Zeiger. Thanksgiving Let us give thanks to God on Thanksgiving Day.
