There have been plans made to go bowling on Sunday, Dec. 7 at 4:30 p.m. All '^•ens who plan to attend please meet at the Parisi home at the above address between 3:30 to 4 p.m. so that final arrangements can be made. C., Mrs. Welcker. Mrs. Welcker also brought her five year old grandson who had been spending the past five months with her in South Carolina. Visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Don Gersfad on the twenty- Ihird of November were Mr. and Mrs. Don Coon "and daughter, Terry, from Darien, Wis. Mr. and Mrs. Otto Gerstad and Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Birkiribine spent the weekend of the twenty- ninth and thirtieth from Sun Prairie, Wis. They had their Thanksgiving dinner at this time and also helped Don celebrate his birthday a few days in advance. Mr. and Mrs. Birkinbine (Mrs. Gerstad's mom and dad) will spend a few more days at the Gerstad home and then they will be on their way to Phoenix, Ariz., where they will spend the next six months. Happy Birthday to Don Gerstad who celebrated his birthday on Dec. 2. To Joe Cina who celebrated his "21st" birthday. (This of course is only wishful thinking on the part of Joe). His birthday was on the twenty- second of November but he waited to celebrate it on Thanksgiving so that the whole family could be there including their son. Vince, who is home for the holidays from college and also there for the dinner were his sister, Jean Parisi and her family. Demonstration A demonstration was held at the home of Mrs. Jean Gagnon on Sunday afternoon, Nov. 23. Jean Parisi, Fran Cina, Stella Links, Bferniece Boyce, Helen Kotryck, Phyllis Michalik, Ann Ritter. Violet Dornbreck, Mickey Gladman, Gale Laursen, Alice Quaiver, Arlene Bartos, Edna Hountras and her cousin, Gertrude, Rose Ann Heber, Louise McEnery. Marylyn Stanek, Lyda Radisch, Ann Herzag and yours truly were there to OH <md AH over all these verylovely things. At the end of the demonstration Jean served all of us a very delicious Cantonese dinner consisting of not only one kind of chop suey, but two, plain and fried rice and of course tea and coffee. Snow Ball Dance Gosh, the time is sure getting short, before you know it it will be Dec. 13, the night of the Snow Ball dance this year. If you have not made your plans to attend this dance as yet. you "better do so real quick because if you don't attend you will sure be missing a very enjoyable evening, so come on, let's get our dancing shoes all polished up and be ready at 9 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 13 to have ourselves a real good time. During their visit, Will thrilled daughter Lynne with a trip into the loop to, see the grand sights and attended a feature at one of the big theaters. This was a highlight for the little country gal. "Big" Bob Kantorski wandered up via the toll Way from Cleveland. Ohio to spend his. free time with the family. Then the entire group returned to the village for the rest of the very enjoyable weekend. Bob drove back to Cleveland on Sunday. Tohnsburg LADY FORESTERS AND SODALITY PLAN FOR XMAS b> r>ert) Hette.rmann Naval Training Center. The reason for these trips were to see their son, young Bill who has been stationed there since the first part of October. Bill spent "a few days in the naval hospital but is back in "shipshape" once again. The Blessed Virgin sodalityhas planned its annual Christmas party for Wednesday evening, Dec. 10. The evening will start at 6:30 with a pot-luck supper. Each member attending is asked to bring a dish to pass and a fifty cent gift for exchange. During the course of th^, evening, our good Sisters wall be honored by the sodality members. A special invitation is extended to the young members of the sodality to attend this festive affair. From One Block to the next, is all Dorothy and John Cunningham managed in the removal of their worldly possessions on Sunday. From their former home on Park View, the couple and youngsters have located in the upstairs apartment owned by- John's aunt and uncle. Mr. and Mrs. "Butch" Kennenberg, on Greenwood road. John can still walk^to his place of employment. St. Agatha's court 777 is planning its holiday party for Tuesday evening, Dete. 16. All members of the court are cordially invited to attend this preholiday party. Each member is askejl to bring a dish to pass for the pot-luck supper which will start at 6:30. At this party a fifty cent gift exchange will also take place. Again this year as in the past a kitchen shower for our Sisters will be on the evenings agenda. Plan on attending both of these parties and get some of the "good old holiday spirit." Hospital Notes Larry Schaefer made a quick trip to and from the Woodstock hospital recently. He came out of the ordeal minus his tonsils. After a few days of soreness, things were back to normal for Larry. Visits Son In Navy Mr. and Mrs. Bill Martinec made a few trips in the past few weeks to the Great Lakes Girl Seouts and BroWnie News Brownie Troop 408 was found to be busily working ats, its recent meeting. There are a lot of secret things being planned byr the group for the forthcoming holiday season. Besides their Christmas stockings the girls have other projects underway. Mary Lynn Meyers was cookie hostess for this particular afternoon. Brownie Troops 295 and 378 did not have a weekly meeting last week because of the Thanksgiving holiday. Girl Scout Troop 135 had a very special meeting last week. Mrs. Catherine Frederick was at this, meeting to present the trdop flag to the girls on behalf of St. John's P.T.A- Mrs. Mary Hettermann presented our country's flag to the troop as a gift from the V.F.W. auxiliary. Badge work continued following the flag presentation. Around the Town The Gerald Wakitsch family was in Chicago last Thursday to spend the holiday with Gerry's sister and family. Mr. and Mrs. Art Kattner and family of. Spring Grove, Mrs. Catherine Freund and Mr. and Mrs. Bill May and sons were Thanksgiving dinner and' supper guests at the Richard Dehn home. "Pete" and Marge Peterson and their three children journeyed to the city to Marge's sister's home for dinner on Thanksgiving Day. Gathering at the Jim Hettermann home for a family style Thanksgiving celebration were: Mr. and Mrs. Ed Hettermann and family; Mr. and Mrs. John Hefdrich ,and family, Mr. and Mrs. Gerl\v Hettermann and family, "Mr. and Mrs. Don Dowe, Mrs. Helen Hettermann, Gerry, Kenny and Diane Stilling.
