Those spectacular Warriors, rapidly gaining the reputation as the number one team in this area, added another scalp to their belt last Friday night as they whipped the Blue Streaks of Woodstock 83-54 in a conference game at home. The victory increased our conference record to 5-0 and our overall record 11-0. The team never has looked much sharper than they did in this game. They executed tremendous passing and demonstrated great teamwork. The balanced scoring really showed up in the/ box score as the five starters accounted for 57 points, neither of them scoring more than 13. Every player got into the game and scored at least two points apiece. The starters only played about 2 Vz quarters and the reserves kept up the rapid scoring pace. The Fulton men shot a terrific 53.2% for the game -- 55.6% the first half and 50% the second half. This figure represents a new high for the season. Woodstock shot 30.4% for the game, a figure which has become very common with our recent opponents. There was no doubt as to the outcome of the game right at the outset. The Warriors took a 24-13 quarter advantage and were never threatened after that. We made good on 11 of 18 shots in that period. The second quarter was even more one-sided as we secured a 19-8 margin. The amazing teamwork and passing drew raves from the capacity house as the halftime score stood at Geneva 20 22 21 21--84 Outdoors By Jack Walsh lead. This game must be compared favorably with such standout games as Libertyville, Crystal Lake, Barrington, and Zion. The score itself was continuously even all the way. Geneva Sophs Win From MCHS, 54-51 by Shopping The Geneva Vikings triumphed over the local lads on the Geneva hardwoods Saturday evening by the tune of 54 to 51. It was the §oph's third loss in twelve games. The Warriors looked very poor defensively in the second half especially as the Vikings repeatedly made court length passes to men open in the offensive court after Warrior scores. A little more "hustle" and the Warriors might have won the game. For the second night in a row, Tom Creighton and Gary Adams led the Warrior offensive with 19 and 11 points respectively. Roger Swanson led the Warrior re bounders, while Adams and George Meyer had 4 assists each. The team established two new highs besides the one mentioned above. These included t h e n u m b e r o f r e c o v e r i e s which was 29 and the number of violations which was 30. We also showed up very good at the free-throw line by making 17 of 25 attempts. Al Beth, one of the conference's top scorers (third), contributed 24 points to the loser's cause. He showed very good accuracy around the pivot area. Brown scored 16 points for the Streaks. As stated previously, every player turned in a fine performance. Some of the highlights include: Mike Creighton scored 13 points, had 6 recoveries, and shot 66.7% from the floor. Don Bentz hit for 12, grabbed 12 rebounds, and also shot 62.5%. Al Cajthaml scored 11, had 10 rebounds, and shot 62.5%. Marl^ Vycital accounted for 11 points also and shot 62.5% to join Don and Al in that figure. Matt Eichinger scored 10, contributed 8 assists, and hit at a 50% clip. From then on the scoring goes right down the line from 7 points to 2 points.
