Kay Sielisch was very happy to meet Mr. Merley at the association meeting. Seems the check Haze and Kay receive every month goes to his home by mistake and the girls have often wohdered who he was. Father Baumhofer will give a talk: We hope many parents who have children going to St. John's will make a special effort to attend this meeting. A great many folks from the Highlands turned out last Saturday to vote on the park district in McHenry. "Beauty And The Beast*?' Driving around the Highlands one can see many well kept places, pretty flowers blooming, well kept lawns. One can also see many places where tin cans and trash are strewn all over, making them an eye sore. We all want this a community to be proud of. Let's pick up and clean up. Our popular president of the Women's club. Blanche Haefliger, attended the Lotus Blossum Women's club meeting in Spring Grove as the guest of Mrs. Peprgy Bruessler on Wednesday, May 6. She had a wonderful time at the affair. Our deepest sympathy to Mrs. Formella, whose mother passed away. Toots Spankuch and Ann Szypelbaum attended the bowling banquet. The girls enjoyed their night out very much. Don't we all? Harriet Taylor celebrated her birthday May 6. We hope you had a very nice time and we .would like to add our best wishes. The afternoon was May 13. Lee is one of the popular 'teens in the Highlands and a credit to the Teens in every way. The upcoming prom to be held May 16 and 17 has all the 'teens excited and busy. Barb Schlick, who gives us the 'Teens news was busy baking a pie for the banquet May 7, "so she had Ron Spankuch write the items for her.. We hear Barb makes very special pies. Most all of the dates for the prom have been made. Those who will "double date are Lola DuPree, Butch Fort; Barb Schlick and Ron Spankuch; Don Bentz, Judiy Jensen; Pat Johnson and date. Lee Johnson and Honary will attend. Trudy Drochner and John Olson will be on hand. They have all worked hard for this prom arid hope to have a very good time and it is a highlight for all of them. incorporating. There will be much work for these men and they are contacting every family taking a census and asking each family their opinions on incorporation. The vote for going ahead on the census was overwhelmingly in favor. Now all that remains to be done is the final work for the fact- A.ding board. The fact-finding board is asking for suggestions on a new name for Pistakee Highlands. Any name you submit will be considered. Any member attending six consecutive meetings will receive a free horse back ride. A beach party is scheduled for May 23, to be held by the 'teens sponsors and the 'teens members and their dates are invited. They are hoping for a big turn out. Barb Schlick took her father spent chatting over coffee and sweet rolls and browsing thru the family album. Ray Madock has been home for the past week and is kept busy just working around his home and yard. Sharon Peterson celebrated her birthday with a belated pajama party in her home. She had thirteen girls in honor of her thirteenth birthday. The next day Muriel took the girls to the show. The only one who showed any after effects of the night was Mama Peterson. A baby shower was held for Joyce Frpmey last week at the Petersons' home. Muriel had seventeen girls invited and each one came bearing a lovely gift for the baby to be. Coffee and cake were served and the girls played some pamps. What's this about Hazel Rogde drirtking from a baby bottle? This I got to see. The trouble with dogs runnine; loose has been pretty well cleared except for a few that still are loose and causing a disturbance. Please, if yours is one of the dogs still loose please tie it up or keep it on "News In General" Mother's Day was a great day for the mothers in the Highlands.
