Spring Grove and of McHenry high school.. As a partial requirement for the degree, Sister wrote a dissertation entitled "Easy Reading Books as Determined by j the Choices of Retarded Read- ! ers on the Basis of Interest and Readability". The study includ- ' ed an evaluation of 200 books, each of which was read by approximately fifteen retarded readers between the ages of eight and fifteen, reading at first, second or easy third grade level. New officers were installed, Mrs. Frances Kabot as vicepresident and Mrs. Clarence Miller as treasurer. Services were held in church at which time new members were received ,into the sodality. Plans were discussed for a bake sale to be held on J\me 5. who helped make this affair such a huge success. Approximately 150 ladies weijr present to enjoy the showing of summer styles and an afternoon at cards. Many prizes were awarded and a lovely luncheon was served. Lotus Club Luncheon Members of the Lotus Club enjoyed a luncheon at McHenry Country club on Wednesday afternoon. Cards furnished the entertainment for the remainder of the day. Indiana Trip Mr. and Mrs. John Sheets and family visited the Del Smith family in Dyer, Ind., this weekend. Clubs Mrs. Lenora Miller entertained members of her club in her home Thursday afternoon. Games of five hundred were played and prizes were awarded Mrs. Frank Sanders, Mrs. Peter May, Mrs. Ben May, Mrs. Math Nimsgern and -Mrs. Clara Deinlein. A lovely lunch was served. Gagne. son of Mr. and Mrs. A1 J. Gagne, 303 Terrace drive, McHenry, completed the tracked vehicle mechanic course May 7 at the Seventh Ai tank training center in Vilse^ Germany. Specialist Gagne received training in engine repair, track a n d b o d y m a i n t e n a n c e , a n d parts supply. Gagne is regularly assigned as a mechanic in the 32n Armor's Company C in Friedburg.
