SHAMROCKS LOSE TO CRYSTAL LAKE AFTER EARLY LEAD By Mickey Schaefer The Shamrocks were knocked out of first place last week by Crystal Lake behind the pitching of Len. Ackman. The final score was 10-9. The Shamrocks built up an early 9-0 lead after five innings behind JfcffiT" Wickencamp, but then Jim began to tire and was taken out after facing three men in the seventh. Crystal Lake had bating practice at the expense of Gene Freund and Roger Tinder in the final two innings, scoring eight runs double and scored on a. single by Gene Freund. Genie stole second and came home on Tinder's double. The Shamrocks scored four more i^the second when, after one otit, Mathew walked and Chuck Pierce singled. Schaefer singled home a run, and another run, scored on Denny Freund's fielders choice.
