July 23, and registrations for the various activities are now open. The event is sponsored by the Cullom- Knoil association and William Walter is the organizational chairman. One of the features is the bike parade for young lads 2-12 years of age which takes place in the early afternoon. Mrs. Verna Schlofner is heading this event and you can enter your name with her by calling EV 5-0822. Another highlight calling for ingenuity and originality is the buggy parade for lit- •tte misses in the 2-10 year age ; bracket. Mrs. Theresa Schultz -at EV 5-1961 has charge of this affair. The main event will be the selection of "Miss McCullom /Lake - 1960" in the evening. Young ladies from 4-7 are eligible for this contest and may register at Lottie and Gene's grocery. There is a fifty cent registration fee which is to be paid at the time the little !a- .dy's name is put on file. Other chairman for various activities include Leon Hanna, Don Parenti, Don Lorch, :Frank Poledna. Ed Hammerstein and his Louise, and the Roy Zodys. Oh yes. members of the Little League have been given permission to sell balloons at the affair, but the proceeds they realize will go directly to their own organization. Your co-operation will be most earnestly appreciated. Alaskan Adventurers Riding High ters coming home, Lee Larson, Jr. and Dick Osterby are thrilled with the northern life. The lads are working imseparate vicinities and we shal\go into Dick's adventures at a future date. Lee is working in a gold mine, enjoying the many hours (about 17) of daylight, and getting a big thrill out of handling ore - gold, that is! The lads do manage to get together for weekends occasionally. Many scenic points of interest have been visited and enjoyed by them. We'll k<fep you posted on their activities.
