9 & Thursday, July 7. 1960 THE McHENRY PLAINDEALER Eastwood Manor MANOR VOTES ON MOBILE LIBRARY SATURDAY. JULY 9 Dee Penick CV. 5-5527 © There is a possibility that we can have a mobile library available to us. The barn will be open for voting on the matter on Saturday (this Saturday!) July 9, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. That allows plenty of time for you to get over there for the few minutes it would require. "There would be a very mini- 4km cost per family (33 and 1-3 cents tax increase per year). Tim McCormaek will be more than happy to answer any questions you may have. His number is EV. 5-3695. It is hoped that, you will take a fesfr minutes to consider the value of having a mobiie library stopping in our subdivision. If there are times when you 1jtfuld like to have a reference l»ok, a 'How to . . book, (a 'Bird book' to answer the children's questions!) or perhaps a good mystery or novel to pass away a cold spell in the winter, then this should be of great interest to you. If we're to have one it must be voted in. Again, Saturday is the day to express your desire. Notice The Eastwood Manor Women's club has a style show in the planning, as you knew. They now are looking for people who are willing to serve as models. Don't be bashful and think that you just wouldn't do. They are not looking for raving beauties, just someone who is willing to wear^a nice new frock for a while. Dress sizes are not important either, for the merchants who are cooperating with the club have clothes to fit you. (Even maternity clothes will be shown, I suspect.) If you have a little time and would like to have a •lot of fun. call Marilyn Salo and say, I'm willin'. Yes, YOU. The show is being plainned for September but they need to get organized well before then in order for things to rim smoothly. I have heard by the grapevine that the Women's Club meeting for July is to be on the evening of July 11. That's all the info I could get. The first Monday was a holiday was the reason for the postponement. jjReport on EMPOA Dinner A very small group attended the association dinner on Saturday evening, June 25. It's regrettable, because the committee had to put a double amount of effort into the affair due to the change of plans from a barbecue to a dinner, and also . because of the problem of finding a suitable location to hold it outside of our own subdivis- <*• A very suitable location was found and the food was excellent. The few of us who attended had a most enjoyable dinner. The members of the committee and those who helped are to be thanked, for it involved a great deal of work to prepare and to 'KP' afterwards. Jean Mersch, Lois Bian- Shi, Doris Shaw, Eleanor Kuck. lid myself were on the com-; mittee with Lois Ryan w h o was the chairman. Our helpers who set up the tables, arranged chairs and brewed the coffee were A1 Bianchi. Tim Mc- Cormack and Jerry Ryan. Notice The association is planning a fund raising dance which will be open to anyone who would £ke to spend the evening dancing. The place will be the American Legion hall in Mc- Henry and the date is August 13, that's a Saturday. Bring the gang and come on over, we'll be glad to-h^ve you. More details will follow. Another Special I hope all you young fellas ! in our subdivision will not miss | out on this chance to have your I gal voted a beauty queen. . . . j Wouldn't it be nice to have the picture of a Manorite in the paper as a real Queen! Interested? Get a picture along with the name, address, age and phone number of the girl who is entering into the mail. (You must also have the signature of the parent included with the entry.) I think there is a notice in another part of the paper giving details, but if you contact either me or Daisy Smith you can find out more also. We would really enjoy seeng one of our neighbors win! Don't worry if you don't know all the models do about how to walk properly etc. . if you enter the contest you will be shown how to do that.
