Levesque of 410 Spring road, McCullom Lake, was chosen as Miss McCullom Lake on Saturday night at the beach, before a huge throng of spectators. The event took place* during the annual summer festival, sponsored by the Cullom- Knoll association. Teresa Dason, last year's queen, placed the crown on her head. The judges who included John Eschelman, Elgin newspaper editor, Mrs. Mary Rita Stilling, McHenry business woman, and Frank May, Richmond business man, deliberated for more than twenty minutes before making their selection. She was chosen from ten entries in the contest, and was presented with a ten-inch inscribed trophy, a floral arrangement of red roses and white carnations, and a cash prize. The second place crown of silver seguins was placed on the head of adorable fouryear- old Barbara Goebel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Loren Goebel, who also received a cash award and a gift of jewelry. Third place was won by Roberta Fox, the beautiful dark-eyed Okinawan youngster, who_ with her sister, Alberta. made the headlines' not too long ago when they received their citizenship papers. The two sisters were adopted by Lt. Col. and Mrs. John Fox while they were stationed overseas some years ago. Roberta's ornamental headpiece was composed of rose colored sequins and she, too, received jewelry and cash. Other entrants included Margaret Olsen, Alberta Fox, Darlene Jensen, Barbara Nye, Celia Schlofner, Lynn Harrison and Linda Roeske. 0SRITAI * Friends Honor Mrs. Winkelman A group of neighbors and friends helped Mrs. Elmer Winkelman celebrate her birthday anniversary at her home on Center street Thursday. A pot-luck luncheon was served on the lawn, followed by cards and visiting. Bridge and canasta were played, with prizes awarded. Class Of (950 Holds Reunion &ighty-eight members of the class of 1950 of the McHenry high school and their guests gathered at the Legion home last .Saturday evening for a class reunion. There were sixtyfour in the graduating class. Dinner and dancing were highlights of the evening, with a program during the dinner hour. Mike Wieser acted as master of ceremonies, with Donald McCracken, class president, giving the prophecy and Bill Nye reading the class will. Carl Lobitz officiating. After a honeymoon trip to Mackinac Island, Mich., the couple will make their home in McHenry. Mrs. Grace Murphy has returned from a month's vacation two weeks of which were spent with her son, Hugh and family, in New York City, who accompanied her. to Montreal for a week's visit with her other son, Edward and family. The other week she was entertained by two sisters-in-law in Scranton, Pa. Two Families Return From Eastern Trip CHURCH CARNIVAL St. John's church will sponsor its annual carnival on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 5, 6 and 7, featuring a fish fry Friday evening and a family style beef dinner Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Vycital and son, Gary, of McHenry and Mr. and Mrs. Howard Tingleff and son, Tom, of Crystal Lake have returned from a two-week vacation. Ohe parents attended the summer ballroom dance session at a hotel in Uniontown, Pa. The boys went on to Washington, D. C. and visited in the John R.
