All boys between the ages of 11 and 18 are invited to participate. Turn out, fellas, and get this troop off to a good start. The adults are solidly behind yfitl and the ground work has 'be«i laid. Troop committee is as follows: Art Franssen, Scout master, Ernest McCann, John Eberle, Stan Hunt, Ernie Vogt, Dick Pearson of Wonder Lake; Ken Rhodes, Bob Brennan, Pastor McChesney of Ringwood; and George Pederson of McHenry. Little League Officers Elected j Paul Marks was re-elected j president of Little League at a j meeting April 25. Bob Lunak | was elected secretary and A1 Schimke, treasurer. Final registration of boys will take place May 6 at Wonder Lake Motors. First practice game and tryouts will be held Thursday, June 1, at Harrison school at 6:30 p.m. Little League will have its annual tag day May 27 and 28. The boys and adult Leaguers will conduct a door to door canvass and tag the intersections on this weekend. A schedule of games will be set up providing Jfo'r four games a week. Probable schedule wiil be Tuesday and Thursday evenings at both Christ the King and Harrison school fields.. . Final PTA Meeting A spring concert will be programmed for the final meeU, jng of the Harrison PTA Tuesday, May 9. The chorus, directed by Marvin Wenck and the band, conducted by Charles Wightman, will present a musical program. New officers will be jnstailed and reports of delegates to the state convention in Chicago will be given. Officers are Mrs. Ed Bell, president; Mrs. Robert Bird, vice-president; Mrs. James Robison, secretary; and Mrs. Richard Pickrum, treasurer. In other business the PTA life member presentation will be made, and the membership will vote in how to spend the year's surplus of money from the hot dog program. Gulden Wedding Anniversary A golden wedding anniversary dinner for James and Bertha Gillette of Highland Shores was held at the Ringwood Methodist church for sixty friends and relatives of the couple Saturday. The GilWttes are former Chicagoans and have been Lake residents for about four years. They are. very active members of the church and community and their friends showed-their appreciation for knowing this fine Christian couple with the 'Deep Sea Swing' A gay seaside atmosphere will set the mood for the annual dance of St. Mary's Home and School association on Saturday, May 6, at the V.F.W. clubhouse, the theme of which is "Deep Sea Swing". The gala occasion is expected to draw a large crowd for a fine evening of entertainment. Training Completed Miss Marlene Gallas and Miss Mary Alice O'Connor graduated Thursday from the American School of Beauty Culture in Chicago. The students have completed a years course and will take their state board exams next week. Both are graduates of McHenry high school, class of June, '60. Faculty AU Returning Striking a note of community stability is the news that all Harrison school teachers have signed contracts for next year. 'Tis a happy school board that doesn't have to go looking for a faculty on today's market. It's also the first time in quite a few years that District No. 36 has been in this enviable position. All women of the congregation are invited to attend the program and entertainment honoring the mothers and daughters. Bible Church News Pastor Wright has been teaching his Christian Truth class all winter and now has five members graduating. They will be honored during the morning service on May 7. There will be a meeting of the Sunday School staff members at 8 p.m. Mondays May 8. Also on May 8 tht young people will join with those of other churches for a roller skating party at the rink in McHenry. Pastor Wright hes tickets available. Sunday, April 23, ten new members were received into the church. A warm Christian welcome is extended to these people and prayers that a rich mutual blessing will be rereived through fellowship. Mrs. Richard Wright was honored at a pink and blue shower on April 23 at the church fellowship hall attended by about thirty-five ladies Christening; Julie Ann Huff, daughter of Donald and Mary Jean Berner Huff, was baptized by the Rev. James A. Vanderpool at Christ the King church Sunday, April 23. The godparents are Robert Huff .and Jeanne Larsen. i of the congregation.
