Woman's Club To Close Season May 12 The McHenry Woman's club will enjoy a spring luncheon on Friday! May 12. at 12:30 o'clock at the Chapel Hill Country club to close the season. Community Club Holds Ladles Night The Johnsburg Community club held annual ladies' night last Monday, May 1, and all those fortunate enough to secure tickets in time to participate were in agreement that the event was a success. Following a delicious dinner, which was very much enjoyed by all, President Lloyd Freund called a short business meeting and introduced and welcomed the former presidents, William Meyers, Fred Smith and Michael Schaefer. Unfortunately, Math Schmitt and Anthony Schmitt were unable to be present. After a short address by Fr. Anger, assister pastor of St. John's, the program took place. L. Baron, hynotist, was introduced by the chairman, and he entertained the large crowd for a considerable length of time. Those who saw him said to really appreciate the perform- Smith Infant Is Christened The little daughter of Mr. ahd MrS: Harvard was christened Pamela Marie in a baptismal ceremony solemnized at St. Joseph's Catholic church, Harvard, recently, with Fr. Healev officiating. Sponsors for the baby were Carol Jean Freund of McHenry, an aunt, and Edmund Hayden of Woodstock. A buffet dinner was served after the ceremony for the sponsors and the grandparents. Mrs. Smith is the former Josephine Freund of McHenry. Fox Lake. Father Robert Eldridge officiated at the morning service. The organist was Mrs. Bill Dial of McHenry. For her early May wedding, the bride chose a street length dress of white crystalette, featuring a full skirt and white lace bodice, with a short jacket to malch: Her headpiece was a small white hat and bltisher veil. A shower of white daises, pom-poms,' and ribbon formed her bridal bouquet. Serving in the capacity of matron-of-honor was Mrs. Robert Brunswick of McHenry, who wore lavehdar and white floral chiffon over taffeta and matching accessories. She carried a bouquet of lavender and white pompoms. Claude Peterson of Mundelein was the best man. After the ceremony, a reception for about fifty guests was held at the bride's home, 4900 North Park View, in McCullom Lake. A buffet type of luncheon and c h a m p a g n e were served to the guests. The couple left for a short wedding trip and upon their return will I'eside in McCullom Lake. The new Mrs. Gronlund is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin, class of '57, and Is presently teaching the seventh grade at Gavin's elementary school. The groom is a graduate of Grant high school, Fox Lake and is currently employed with Illinois Bell Telephone company.
