/ URN HcCdllom Lake ACCIDENT VICTIM MAKING PROGRESS TOWARD RECOVERY Eve Levesque .^Although she is still on the C&tical list at McHenry hos pital, Mrs. Walter Scarbrough o£ Orchard Drive is making progress towards recovery, according to her husband. The ffcod word was given by the tpedicos on Sunday that they felt thiey could save the injured leg which had been danger of amputation. After her accident which occurred just past midnight cm Thursday morning on high- Way 12 near Spring Grove, she was rustled to McHenry hos- P&al Where it was deemed necessary to remove her left arm. The tragedy happened when her car went out of control, plunged from the highway and rolled over. Mrs. Scarbrough is still suffering from numerous cuts, bruises, and two fractured ribs An intensive examination on Saturday ruled out the possibility of internal injuries. The injured woman is an accomplished pianist and organist and had been giving lessons. The prayers of the entire area are with Mrs. Scarbrough as she puts up a valiant battle to regain her health. This family has had more thajn a ffur share of misfortune. Last November, shortly after moving to McCullom Lake, Mr. Scarbrough was a patient at Hines hospital. While he was confined, the couple's only son, George, was in an auto accident near Elgin1 and was taken to American hospital. The wee one made her appearance while daddy is still a member of the Armed Forces. Charles, who holds the rating of S/4 has been stationed at the Nike site in Milwaukee and is due for discharge tomorrow. The paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Roland Payne of Chicago and proud maternal great-grandmother is Mrs. Charles Harvey of Skokie. Bursting with pride in their role of new uncles are Tom and Frank who reside with Gwenth and Ray. Frank will make his own headlines in June when he becomes a bridegroom. More on that later.
