Friendship Guild Hostess To Aid The Friendship guild ladies of Zion Lutheran church were hostesses to members of the Ladies Aid last Tuesday evening. A delicious buffet ham dinner, with all of the trimmings, was served in the basement of the church. Tables, were decorated in spring colors. The very enjoyable evening was concluded with a community- sing. Nancy Wohlert Guest At Shower Miss Nancy Wohlert was guest of honor at a surprise bridal shower held Friday, May 12, given by school friends. She will become the bride of Donald Fout of Spring Grove on July 29. Following a two-week trip to Colorado, the couple will reside in Richmond. Miss Laverne Meyer and Miss Joan Meyer, sisters of the bride, and Mrs. Verna Schmitt attended the bride, while little Cynthia Mayfield was flower girl. Dennis Schmitt was best man and groomsmen were Alan Meyer of Rockford and Dick Christiansen of Wisconsin. The couple will reside in Richmond. Honor Retiring: Teacher At Party Miss Mary Kinney, who is retiring from the teaching pr«. fession, was guest of honor at a gathering at the home of Miss Genevieve Knox last Thursday evening, with former co-workers at what is now Landmark school as guests. A chicken dinner was served from a table centered with a lovely floral piece, after which cards and reminiscing were enjoyed and the guest of honor presented with a beautiful gift. Guests in addition to those already mentioned included Eleanor Foley, Carolyn Bauer, Nellie Doherty, Arlene Peaison, Mildred Reese, Lenore Cooley, Joanne Rulien, Mary Vycital, Laura Ferwerda and Jennie Mae Richardson. Miss Freund in blue and Miss Olson in yellow. The flower girl was little Donna Jean Frisby, six-yearold sister of the bride, who wore a white organza dress with pink sash. Bob Hettermann served as best man and groomsmen were John Hogan of Ringwood, Dick Olson, Jr., of Island Lake and Marvin Olson of Mineral Springs, brothers of the groom.
