Falls From Porch Mrs. Helen Pedersen of Wonder Lake was brought to M c H e n r y h o s p i t a l M o n d a y morning after she f^ll from a porch railing, which\broke as she sat on it. Her husband, who was nearby, ran to assist and helped to break her fall into the driveway below the porch. Mrs. Pedersen sustained a cracked rib and remained for observation. Two McHenry residents were among four hurt in an auto crash on Rt. 120 and Wilson road, east of McHenry, last Friday afternoon. State police say Daniel Thurwell of Crestwood Drive, McHenry, was driving east on Rt. 120 when another auto, driven by Beverly" Overton, of Ingleside, pulled onto the highway from Wilson road after stopping for the sign. She was charged with failure to yield the right-of-way. The drivers and two passengers, Dorothy Thurwell and Miss Overton's mother, Helen, were taken to McHenry hospital for treatment. Two Die Two Woodstock men were killed early on Saturday, June 3, when their auto crashed head-on with a semi-trailer auto conveyer truck on Rt. 14, just west of the city limits of Woodstock. The victims were Rodney Messengale, 22, an employee of a Wonder Lake firm, and Lester Weaver. The truck driver, Velton Starkey, of Janesville, Wis., escaped with minor bruises. Messengale is reported to have turned out to pass another vehicle. Starkey told authorities he swerved but was unable to avoid the crash, and his truck ran on top of the car, pinning the two men in the Rnth were dead on arrival at Memorial hospital. Robert Beyer of Wonder Lake was released after treatment at McHenry hospital for lacerations of the forehead following an accident Monday night on Rt. 120, near Lakeland Park. His car struck the rear of another vehicle driven by Michael Hertel of Round Lake, which had slowed to turn. Joseph Sanford, 18, escaped injury last Sunday evening when his car went out of control on River road and overturned.
