KACPROWICZ SUNGLASSES AND SAFETY Whenever glare is encountered, sunglasses provide added visual comfort and help to filter out most of the harmful ultraviolet and infrared rays of the sun. Their use for long hours of daylight driving, particularly on concrete highways, does help to reduce eye strain for most drivers. The Illinois Society for the Prevention of Blindness warns however, that sunglasses should not be worn for driving after sunset.
