At this time, the nominations for officers took place. After the ballots were counted the following women were elected- Pearle Stineman, president: Diane Fuhler, vice-president; Connie Johnson, secretary: and Ruth Young, treasurer. Installation of the new officers will take place at the November meeting. Those ladies on the welcoming committee fo£ the next three months are Marie Behrendt, Eunice Tobey and Val Fradinardo. The monthly prize was won __bv<ffrTfh Young. Hostesses for ""^tne October meeting were Val Fradinardo. Diane and Katlierine Fuhler. The next monthly meeting will be held Monday, Nov. 6. Hostesses for the November meeting are Emma Gray. Andrea Johnson and Alma Hueckstaedt. It will be held at 8 p.m. in the large hall of Glub Lilvmoor. Any lady who wishes to join the auxiliary is welcome. You know you do not have to be a i resident of Lilvmoor to belong. Fashion Show The fashion show the woman's auxiliary held Thursday, Oct. 5. was a success. The young children modeling were Debbie and Scott Fuhler, Sharon Neumann, Marlene Karmel. Susan Crawley and Lucinda Fradinardo. The three ladies who made it possible for the models to make their changes so fast and easy were Leona Fantus, Ruth Young and Katherine Fuhler. Meetings are held on the third Monday of the month at '8 p.m. Girl Scopit Outing; Girl Scout Troop 478 .of holiday Hills went on an outing Tuesday. Oct. 3, to Coonpy Heights. On their outing, ttje girls learned how to lay a trail and use a compass. They prepared a one pot meal for thpir supper, and finished up the outing by sitting around the campfire singing songs. The girls who attended the cook-out were: Linda Abbink, Janice Carlson, Christine Couviljiun, Audrey and Nadine Estes, Bonnie Exline, Betsy Haufe, Elizabeth Krueger, Carol and Patty Schmidt, Candy and Penny Walters, Kathy Weyland, April Young, and leaders, Mrs. Harper and Mrs. Abbink. The Abbinks left on Friday to spend the weekend in Skokie so that Vi could help out and attend the wedding of her sister, Gerri, who was married to Mr. John Porezinski at St. Peter's church in Skokie on Saturday, Sept. 30. Gerri and John are frequent visitors to Holiday Hills, so we are pleased to hear from Vi that all went well and the happy couple spent their honeymoon in Florida. Happy Birthday Master Roy Breerie celebrated his fourth birthday oh Wednesday, Oct. 4. The younger set on hand to help celebrate were Judy Abbink, Nancy Harper and Leslie and Mark Jende. Cake and ice cream were served to his guests and their mothers. The afternoon party was followed by another party in the evening for his aunts and uncles.and cousins. the coming holiday season which is just around the corner by doing their Christmas shopping early. FIFTY TO ATTEND ART WORKSHOP AT EDGEBROOK SCHOOL Neighborly Notes Gerry and Hal Breede travelled to Oconomowoc, Wis., on Saturday, Sept. 30, to attend the golden wedding anniversary of Hal's aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Swendsen. Girl Scout fund Drive Everyone cooperated in the Girl Scout fund drive held Oct. 1 through Oct. 8. Hard working collecting were Vi Abbink, Alice Forthman, Marline Mettelko, Marge Schmidt and Mickey Walters. A fine job, well done. We have over forty girls in our subdivision who will benefit from the fund drive. Proceeds also go toward additional leader training and campsite improvement. Fifty teachers and nuns from McHenry public and parochial schools will attend an Art Workshop on Oct. 31, Nov. 1 and 2, at Edgebrook School, it was announced this week by Carl Buckner, superintendent of schools. The Workshop will be conducted by Miss Violet Eckhoff. who has taught extensively and holds a Master's degree from Columbia university. The teachers will spend fifteen hours of their own time learning more about modern creative art education and some of its materials and tools. They will learn by doing, rolling up their sleeves and trying out the art techniques presented by Miss Eckhoff. These techniques will include some of the uses of water colors, pp§ter paints, finger paints, * colored chalks, and modeling clay, in addition to crayons. Simple creative craft techniques will also be presented, giving teachers an opportunity to wogft with paper, paste and otner materials tp gain three dimensional effects.
