Tom Birmingham Cadet Fidler Placed On Academy Honor Roll Cadet J. Beau Fidler, son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul E. Fidler of 3100 W. Riverstream drive, McHenry, has earned academic honors for the first six weekiK grading period of the first semester at Wentworth military academy, Lt. Col. Dalas C. Buck, dean, has announced. He earned superior grades to qualify for the dean's honor roll. Cadets who earn academic honors during the specified grading periods at the Lexington, Mo., academy are accorded extra privileges and are permitted to wear the scholastic bar on their uniforms. OBITUARIES NICK M. JUSTEN Nick M. Jus ten of 1405 N. Green street, McHenry, died last Thursday, Nov. 2, about 3 o'clock in the afternoon while making a visit to St. Mary's Catholic church during a special period of prayer. His death at the age of 70 was unexpected. Mr. Justen was born in Johnsburg Jan. 14, .1891, son of Joseph and Catherine Miller Justen. After dairy farming on Solon Mills road for many years, he moved to McHenry about seventeen years ago. He was a member of the Holy Name society. Mr. and Mrs. Justen were married Jan. 29, 1913, in St. Mary's church by Rev. A. Royer. His host of friends were aware of Mr. Justen's love of birds, and they, as well as passers- by, enjoyed the bird sanctuary which surrounded his home, as well as the beautiful flowers that enhanced the appearance of the grbiaqds. In his retirement, he devoted "considerable time to the care of forty ponies in the McHenry area. Survivors include his wife, Celia E.; two sons, Elmer of McHenry and Joseph, Richmond; four daughters, SiSter Nicele, OSF., of Wooddale, 111., Mrs. Marie Martin of Sunnyside, Mrs. Dorothy Whittemore of California and Clarene at home. Also two brothers, Ben Justen of McHeniy and Frank Justen of Chowchilla, Calif.; and ten" grandchildren. Two sons, Fredrick and Roger, preceded him in death, and also four brothers, Jacob F., John, William and Michael, and two sisters, Mrs. Anna May and Christine Stilling. The body rested at the Peter M. Justen funeral home until Monday at 10 o'clock, when Mass was read at St. Mary's church, followed by burial in the church cemetery. WALTER SZYDLOWSKI Funeral services were held T u e s d a y a t * S t . H y a c i n t h church in Chicago for Walter Szydlowski, 73, of Lindenhurst, Lake Villa, father of Mrs. Richard Malstrom of McHenry. Burial was in St. Adalbert cemetery, Niles. Mr. Szydlowski died in McHenry hospital Friday, Nov. 3, after being confined there for two days. He had resided in the Chicago area for twenty-one years and was a retired janitor for the Chicago board of education: Arrangements were made locally at the George R. Justen funeral home. EVA J. PITZEN Funeral services were held at 10 o'clock Wednesday morning from St. Mary's Catholic church for Mrs. Eva J. Pitzen, who died Sunday, Nov. 5, at McHenry hospital, where she had been a patient for four days. Burial was in St. John's cemetery, Johnsburg. Prior to the time of last rites, the body rested at the George R. Justeji & . Son funeral home. The deceased was born April 15, 1899, in New York City. For the past seventeen years she and her husband had resided at their home at 3513 W. street. Survivors include her husband, Frank N.
