Chairman Chet Banker is deeply- appreciative of the generosity of those who donated; the "leg ladies and men" and the efforts of the Scouts of Sunny, srele Troop 144. He asked that special mention be made of Scoutmaster Ray Jensen. It will be some years before his sob, Ray, Jr., is of Scout age bm Ray is interested in the youth of our sreat country and spends a lot of time working with his troop on camptfuts. hikes, etc. He is a young man dedicated to help build good citizens cf his boys and is always willing to work hard. Home Again Heddie and Jim Haninger have recently returned from a visit with their son, Dr. Glen Haninger, his wife, Margaret, and the six little Haningws; Glen and his family recently moved from Columbus to Gahaima* Ohio- into a beautiful new home so this was an inspection^ trfp as well as a visit for Heddie and! Jim. i Anniversary Carol and Bob Lasnek celebrated their eighth anniversary Saturday, Oct. 21, by taking her mother and sister, Mrs. Kohlmeyer and Audrey Jozwiak, and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Steven Lasnek to dinner. When they arrived at the restaurant they found a table had been resesred for their party, the dinner ordered and two dozen beautiful roses waiting for them. Their families had turned the tables on Carol and Bob. A Day Out Marge DeFrancisco, daughter, Pammy, and Rose Tillich: drove into Chicago last week to have lunch with Rose's mother, Mrs. Kaiser. And naturally! the girls did some shopping also. Brownie News The Tuesday, Oct. 24, meeting of Troop 150 was spent in learning the lemme sticks song. This is a song sung with gestures and baton sized sticks. All the girls enjoyed this meeting and cookie hostesses were Regina Kern and Debbie Stull. Palmer was cookie hostess for this meeting1. A Wedding Bernice and Earl' Fry, Sandy and Tommy attended the wedding Saturday, Oct. 21; of Bernice's nephew, Carl Sikorski, when he took as his bride; Claudia Kubian, both of Chicago. The ceremony was performed at 3 p.m. in the Holy Trinity Catholic' church. The bride was lovely in her white satin bustle backed gown and her shoulder length veil, falling from a crown. The bridesmaidswere dressed in blue. Carl's sister, Matte Smith, came from Pennsylvania to act as matron of honor. A reception for 400 was held in the evening. Bernice's sister and her husband, Violet and Frank Hendrick, and daughter, Nancy, of Wittee, Wis., came to attend the wedding. \ Coming Event A bake sale sponsored by the entertainment committee of the Sunnyside Estates Home Owners Association, Inc., will; be held in November. We hope to have more details for you next week. Girl Scout News At the Wednesday, Oct. 24, meeting of Troop 295 an inspection of uniforms was held and the dues were paid. The girls each had a pumpkin to decorate with materials they brought after which they played some games. Three mothers, Catherine Dehn, Carol Mangold and Joan Walczynski, were guests. Cathy Another Wedding s Alice Bieschke was matron of honor and Ray an usher when her friend, from childhood. Joyce Anderson, married John Shinsky. The candlelit ceremony took place Saturday, Oct. 21, in the North Austin Evangel ican Lutheran church at 7 p.m. in Chicago. The bride's brother, Edward Anderson, pastor of a Lutheran church in Addison, performed the marriage service. She was beautiful in a white satin gown and her shoulder length veil fell from a crown trimmed with pearls. Alice and the bridesmaids were attired in blue street length dresses made by themselves and matching hats made by the bride's mother. A reception for 300 followed at 8:30 p.m. at a private club. Vacationers Return Mr. and Mrs. Kimbro have returned from their visit to T e n n e s s e e . T h e y s p e n t s o m e time in Nashville looking in on friends and former neighbors. Then on to Normandy for a visit with his brother and wife, Mr. and Mrs. George Kimbro. There the clan gathered for a reunion. Sisters, nieces, nephews and kissin' cousins by the score came from far and near to taile an$4fewsfe Oirttwy vwul to Belvidere and Hillsboro to visit two other sisters for a few days. On the way back to Nashville they- stopped to visit with Mrs. Kimbro's first music teacher of ov^r 50 years ago who is as chipper today as then. After another day or so in Nashville with friends they returned home saying it was the nicest visit yet. Let's Go Visitin*' Let's stop to saji hello to Heddie- and Jim Hfaninger at 1917 W. Indian Ridge drive. They moved to Sunnyside Estates, in September, 1960 from Cicero. Jim is a retired mail handler in the U.S. post office and likes to fix clocks, painting and decorating. Heddie likes to cook* bake and gardening. They have two children. Their son, Dr. Glen Haninger. is a pediatrician and lives with his wife, Margaret, two daughters and four spns in Gahanna, Ohio. Their,-daughter. Joan, is the wife of Dr. Robert Fruin of Hines. They have one daughter and t hree sons and another baby is expected momentarily. Nice people, the Haningers. Shety, civil defense director of the McHenry area, gave a talk on civil defense.
