It's that tirhe of year again when the dogs seem to be running in packs. Where they come from I'm not sure, but they're here. With so many running, It's hard to keep your own dog from running with them, but each loose dog makes the pact that much bigger. If you hav£ a dog, please use extra care to see that It doesn't get out alone or without being restricted to your property. Dogs running in packs will be picked up, br worse, sttch dogs have been known to become wild. Don't take a chance, keep your dog at home where you and the family can enjoy it as the pet it's meant to be. Vehicle Stickers If you would like a Nunda Township sticker for your car, they may be obtained by contacting Lorraine Bemis. She has the forms to be filled out. These stickers, identify your location of residence and are particularly helpful to those who work in Chicago and may be stopped for not having a vehicle tag. Progressive Supper The couples club of St. John's Lutheran church will hold their progressive supper on this Sunday evening Feb. 15. The supper, originally scheduled for the month of November, was postponed because of the assassination. service will begin at 6:30, for the convenience of those families with small children who should be In bed1 early. The second service will be held at th regular hour of 8 o'clock. Junior choir practice will be held on Thursday evenings instead of Wednesday during Lent. Shut-ins Bill Exline is recuperating after some very serious surgery in McHenry Hospital last week. Between Bill and Loretta keeping the hospital busy and the children, Bonnie Linda, Glen and Laurie, and their tonsillitis, they may soon name McHenry hospital the Exline Foundation. PUBLIC AID REVISION Recipients of Old Age Assistance, Aid to Dependent Childi'en, Disability Assistance and Blind Associance soon will be issued identification cards, according to the report from the Illinois Department of Public Aid. The identification cards are the first step in the series of revisions of Public Aid Department procedures related to providing medical services to publicaid recipients. Under the new system, public aid recipients will be* required to present the card to a pharmacist or physician when requesting drugs or treatment. The cards will show the recipient's name, case number, county of residence and signature. McHenry Shores Emmef Barden Dies Suddenly Bernlce Wilson -- 885-4880 Services for Emmet Barden Were held in McHenry on Feb. 5. Mr. Barden passed away suddenly on Feb. 2 in his home. He had been a Chicago Daily News photographer for 28 years and in recent years had covered the northern suburbs. He Wort several awards and was second vice president of the Chicago Press Photographers association and a member of the McHenry County Deputy Sheriff's association. Survivors are his wife, Helen, a son, Michael of Wheeling, two grandchildren and a brother, E. M. Barden, from Farmington, Mich. Our condolences go to the family. Report On Meeting After the meeting on Thursday evening Mr. Olson representing the North Fox River Valley Conservancy District, gave a talk on the proposed plan to appoint five men to take charge of the growing problem of water pollution, drainage and flooding. There will be a meeting next week about this so watch the Plaindealer for the time and place as Mr. Olson was unable to give us this information.
