Eleanor baked the cake and the girls said it was really scrumptous. Lynn Krebs was hostess to the Faith Presbyterian Youth Group meeting last Wednesday evening. Those attending were: Cathy Murray, Cathy Ruth, Bill Thomas, Rick and Dennis Moore, Becky Hughes, Olive Jackson, Mr. and Mrs. David Hadley, their counselors, and Rev. Mclntyre. After the meeting, delicious refreshments were served. Cub Pack 162 Cub pack 162 held their annual Blue and Gold banquet on Thursday, Feb. 27, at the American Legion home in Mc- Ilcriry. A very delirious dinner was served to each den individually, but all dens using the same menu. After-dinner entertainment was supplied by some of the Cubs. Each table was beautifully decorated with place mats, napkin holders, and centerpieces made by the boys this past month. Guests of honor were Legion Commander Dominic Vol pendesta and Scout Commissioner Duerenberg and his lovely wife. Commissioner Duerenberg spoke on the progress that the packs had made this past year. Awards were the next thing on the agenda. Den Mother, Louise Griffeth, received an appreciation gift for being with the pack over 1 year. Caroline Congdon of Den 2 received the same award. Glen Messer and A1 Bianchi as Cubmaster and assistant also received awards. Cub Scouts from our subdivision receiving awards were James Griffeth, James Coughlin, Douglas Messer and Steve Congdon. Hope the day is a happy one to both couples. Imitation to men of the Shores SSAC! What is it; Where is it?; Why is it? SSAC stands for Shores Social Athletic Club. It is comprised of men from the Shores who hold a meeting once a month, on the third Saturday, at the homes of various members. The purpose of the Club is to do good for the Community, donate money yearly to charity and at the same time present recreational and social activities for its members. The club started in 1959 with sevei) members at the home of Ed Olbinski and since that time it has grown. TheSSAC club is responsible for *the following improvements, in some cases alone and in others with the joint efforts of the Home Owners Club: Swings at .the beach; Barbeque Pit; Cement Slab; Baseball field and Backstop; Horseshoe Pits; and 6 Lights at beach. > There are other improve^ ments in the planning stage.
