Will he come out for the office of mayor? ."Will he step down andnot erfter the race? These are Just some of the questions. The second raid of the year took Rlace when Chief Deputy Ssheriffc" Hibbard visited four "wet i&rlpurs" Wednesday. Accompanied by a number of specially sworn in deputies, he swoop^ down on McHenry, Jotmsbarg and Pistakee Bay, and after'they had called it "a day" six proprietors were notified to appear at Woodstock. A small truck ldad "of evidence" was seized on this trip. That there will be at leasi one contest waged in the annual township election is seen in the declaration of William Simes and William H. ROTARY NEWS The newly elected officers for 1964-65 have been busy the last two weeks trying to formulate programs and schedules that exceed the efforts of President Herb Reihansperger and his officers for the year ending June 30. Needless to say, the outgoing officers had this in mind the past year, the incoming officers are keenly aware of the gigantic task that faces them as they plan the various activities and name the chairmen who are to lead these very important committees. The officers elected for 1964- 65, effective as of July 1 this year, are as follows: Jerome Buch, president; Ron Fredrick - sen, vice-pi -sident; Jack Kelsey, secretary; Thomas F. Bolger, financial secretary; directors. Bob Blake Eugene Freund and ^lerb Reihansperger. Dean and his co-worker^ Ted Wickman deserve the many compliments rendered them for the efforts put forth to make this such an enjoyable affair. Over sixty Rotarians and rural guests attended. The fact that Dr. Eastman, husband of the former Vivian Bolger, one of our local girls, is a member of the faculty of Naperville college contributed to local interest. Ron, Fredricksen, chairman of the "On to Pheasant Run" group, and AL Barbian, who took time out from his busy duties on Riverside Drive to spend a few days relaxing in the sunny clime of Florida so that he could concentrate on his program/t5f "To- onto-here c o m e s M c H e n r y . A work force of several hundred persons is being organized in McHenry county to carry out an intensive two-pronged program in April. This force of more than 500 volunteer workers will take part in the 1964 Cancer Crusade. Their mission is straight forward: Help whip cancer. These volunteers are planning now to carry out this mission as an informational campaign and as a fund-raising campaign. Chairman of the Cancer Crusade for the third yea.Vis Roger Reichert, Woodstock and Crystal Lake businessman. Reichert explained lives can be saved if people will act age of 97.33. Our district No. 644 is composed of "sixty-two clubs, which reflects the effort put forth by our chairman of attendance to keep his club in the upper top ten. Dan has Challenged the Richmond club for an attendance contest for the month of March. It is hoped that we can. equal or better the percentage of 97.33 of January as Richmond has always been known as a "clutch" club and has one of the better Rotary clubs in the district. t One suYe way t<&rf$g £ut how many friends you have-- !•< ,• • • when the seven danger signals of cancer appear. The Surgeon General of the United States in his report declared smoking is injurious to health. The McHenry County Cancer Crusade is correlated with the work of the American Cancer Society.
