Locally, Mrs. Elma Nelson, president of the Ladies of the Lake, is organizing the drive and has. her volunteer workers lined up. Please remember-- these women offer their free time (in many cases--very limited) to make the solicitations, and certainly receive no remuneration. It is a thankless job and they need your support. Easter Party for Small Fry "Peter Cottontail" has assured a delegation of Cullom- Knoll members that he Will make an appearance locally and leave "goodies" for wee lads and lassies. According to Rich Johnson and Roger Kinsey, the party will be held Saturday March 28, at # 2 p..m. There will be an Easter egg hunt and some of the eggs will be marked for prizes. Lucky youngsters will be able to claim - their gifts. Candy will also be dispensed to the young boys and girls up to age 12. Because of his heavy schedule, the Easter bunny will need assistance from moms and dads in the way of HARD BOILED colored eggs. Last year ther^ were not enough donations and the club was forced to supplement. Certainly, the Cullom- Knoll organization can count on YOU!! plagued by recurring illness and his doctors found that an operation was neceisary. Condolence* To Mrs. Florence O'Flaherty whose brother, Edward Williams, 76, of Highland. Park died last Saturday in a Waukegan hospital. Services for him were held Tuesday morning in Highland Park. In addition to Florence, he is survived by two brothers and one other sister. Ladles Of The Lake Meets Tonight Business and a social evening will be combined tonight when members of the Ladies of the Lake assemble in the beachhouse at 8 p..m. Mrs. Harriet McNamara will handle the gavel in the absence of president Elma Nelson. More details will be released on the upcoming "krazy hat" and Easter party scheduled for March 21. All women of the community are cordially invited to attend. Report of Cullom-Knoll Executive Board Officers and trustees of the Cullom-Knoll Association met Tuesday, March 3, in the beachhouse. In spite of the absence of five trustees, there was a quorum. , 1 Roger Kinsey, president, named Mrs. Barbara Thacker to handle the committee in charge of the selection of Miss McCullom Lake, senior variety. This judging will be held some time in May. Rich Johnson is readying a "mailer" which covers the many facets of the organization and it is a "pitch" for new members. Many have expressed a desire to join, but haven't been asked! Please consider this a gilt edged invitation. The club maintains the park and beach but can't do it on "peanuts"! Since Rich also serves as liaison member between the club and the teen group, he commented on their activities. The young people have a renewed vigor for their club and are a going concern." They are formulating a set of by-laws and have planned many outings. Rich says, 'They are a wonderful group.." (and we sure agree with him). Redecorating of the beachhouse will be completed in the near future and a delegation of members of the Ladies of the Lake have the new drapes ready to install when the painting project is done. Area Men Initiated About fifty husbands and wives left the McHenry Moose hall last Sunday by bus to attend initiation ceremonies in Downer's Grove. Among the area men who were directly involved were Earl Nelson (accompanied by his charming Elma) of N. Orchard Drive; Roy Homo (and his lovin' Loretta) of West Shore Beach; and Flora and Lance Parks, also-bf West Shore Beach. Earl and Roy were initiated into the Legion of tlie Moose. Injured In Fall Lottie Piotrowski was scheduled to return to work yesterday following a fall last Thursday which resulted in a sprained right arm. As she was entering her place of employment, she slipped and injured herself and was tak£n to a local medico. "Geno" proved his capabilities with a skillet and prepared roast turkey and all the trimmings for the fellas and the ailing Lottie. . Missing From The Local Scene Marie and Tony Hagel of North Maple Hill Drive have been enjoying a week in the reputed largest village in the world--Skokie.
