March 26, 1964) Busy days for local Rotarians have been in the making the last several months Our more than capable officers have made an extreme effort to complete a most outstanding year of ahievement when they leave office this coming June 30. This past Friday and Saturday our members wfere on the streets helping the E aster Seal campaign which ha3 been one of the club projects the last several years. Chuck Peterson again served as chairman for our club, and with the help of Rev. Jack Mclntyre, Larry Lund and Dan Justen, outlined a program that will no- doubt break all previous records when the final results are in. This is strictly a club project with every member contributing time and effort to help this cause. Monday,. March 30, is Charter Night for the new Palatine Rotary club which was sponsored by our neighboring club in Barrington. The dinner meeting is to be held at the Sheraton O'Hare Inn, 6H10 Mannheim road, Des Plaines. Bill Malpede, our local chairman for this affair, states that a large delegation of our Rotarians and their wives have signified their intention of being present. More information relative to International convention will be available shortly. The children of the Woodstock Children's home will be guests of our club today Thursday, March 26, our regular luncheon meeting day, Rotarians provide transportation for the youngsters, along with, a delicious dinner and. special entertainment. Art "Torchy" Krause is chairman of this committee, which also sponsors a summer picnic and provides a "Rotary Friend" for- -each youngster. Birthdays, Valentine Day, Christmas and other holidays are never overlooked by the friends of these children. It is debatable as to whether the youngsters or the oldsters enjoy this program the most.
