Despite the "Christmas weather" on Easter Sunday, there Were a lot of visitors to the Manor and a lot of Manorites Visiting elsewhere. Visiting the Bud Haldemans Oil Easter Sunday were Bud's tnother, Mrs. Haldeman of Streator, and the Dale Haldeinah family of Richton Park. Surprising the Lenny Hansen family were son, Denny, wife, Atrilla, and baby, Kenneth, 3 months old. This is the first time that the Hansens have seen their grandson. They arrived Wednesday before Easter and will probably be leaving this weekend. Denny is staticRted at Carswell Air Force Base at Fort Worth, Texas. -They have been very busy this 'week introducing their daughiter- in-law and grandson to the ^tfest of the relation. Helping Diebbie Hansen, daughter of the '-Richard Hansens, celebrate her 1 third birthday were about thirty relatives. Debbie was 3 cn "the 17th of March. , Easter Sunday the Richard Hansens had dinner with Pa i s .parents, the George Reeds of 'Ingleside, and then journeyed to Kenosha, Wis., to visit Pat's •grandfather, George Reid, Sr. The Melvin Poter family visited Melvin's mother , Mrs. Springer, of Chicago. Bill and Judy Huemann entertained on Easter to observe the day and to celebrate Judy's end Bill's birthdays and also Judy's grandmother, Mrs. Ben DeCicco. These birthdays have all taken place in the past Jnonth. Guests for this occasion were: Mr. and Mrs. Anthony DeCicco of Oak Park, Mrs. Lucille Manson of Lake Zurich;" Mr. and Mrs. John iLong and daughters of Eastwood Manor, and Mr. and Mrs. Ben DeCicco of Lakemoor. I Eleanor and Walt Kuck attended a boat club meeting and Social eveping on Saturday in Fox Lake. Sunday they took the children bowling in Round Lake. Friday afternoon Rick and Denny Woolwine, Dave Poter and Eugene and Ernie Kuck all had a gay time coloring Easter eggs. - On Easter Sunday the Dick Fenner" family'visited with Lydia's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gorski of Chicago. Also guests for dinner were Mrs. Pozdal of Chicago, Mr. and Mrs. Bogacki and Mr. and Mrs. Earl Wagner. They returned home on Monday. Easter Sunday the George Landins attended church in Chicago and visited the William Hooten family. From there they journeyed to Elmhurst to visit the William Rust family returning home very tired. The Leonard Lawrence family spent Sunday visiting with Dolores' parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hayner, ">f Chicago. On Paini Sunday :he John Daltons drove to Elmwood Park to visit Marie's father, Steve Stattman. Then they drove to Oak Park to pick up John's aunt, Alice McNamara, who spent the week. On Tuesday Marie drove her home and then journeyed to Cicero to visit her mother, Mrs. John Mizerka. The Elmer Urbans spent Easter Sunday at the home of Charlotte's sister and family, the Ski family, at Elk Grove Village. McHenry Shores MANY COMING EVENTS PLANNED BY SHORES CLUB v Bernice Wilson - 385-4380 Despite the pOuring rain on Thursday evening quite a few members came to the meeting. The club will have a bake sale, date to be decided on by the committee, a roller skating party, probably some time in September, a free picnic to be held in July and a dance on October 10. The members agreed to share half the cost with the SSAC sewski and Billy Urban became a year older on April 6, and Carolyn Roths and Kenneth Congdon are celebrating their birthdays, today, April 9. Anniversaries Congratulations to Gail and Roger Crokin who celebrated their anniversary on April 8. May you have many more years of wedded bliss. Condolences May we extend our deepest sympathy to the Robert Grom family on the death of Jackie's father, John Theisen, of Manitowisch, Wis. Mr. Theisen passed away last Friday. Sunday, April 5--The Christian education committee attended a meeting of all Freeport Presbyterian Christian Education committees at 3 p.m. at the First Presbyterian church in Rockford. Monday, April 6 -- Illinois Council of Churches vacation church school institute met at the Community Methodist church in McHenry. Tuesday, April 7--The Women's society executive committee met at the church. club for three new picnic tables at the beach, Ray Pogor has donated the lumber for three more, making it six new tables. These will have to be built by the boys in each of the clubs so if you ar^ handy with a hammer and saw see Tom Burke, all help welcome. A suggestion for a drinking fountain at the' beach is under discussion. Condolences to Tom Burke Our sympathy goes to the Burke family on the death of Tom's father, Harry E. Burke, who passed away on Saturdy, Mar. 28 after a long illness. He left a wife, a brother and two sisters, three children, Thomas, Mary Brandt and Michael and five grandchildren. The family had resided in Oaklawh for many years. Comings and Goings Harry and Pearl Paulin spent a week in Chicago with Harry's sister, Lillian Inden, and her daughter, Cynthia. All went to church services every day since it was Holy Week. On Easter Sunday they were brought back home in the snow storm by Mrs. Inden. New Residents Joyce Lexow has welcomed two new families to the Shores. At 806 S. SSAC Club Has Easter Egg Hurit A very confused Easter bunny could be seen on Saturday afternoon hiding eggs in the snow down at the beach. Most of the children in the Shores came home with goodies, some of the eggs being wrapped up with money to make it more interesting. The boys of the SSAC club gave the bunny a hand, with his heavy load of eggs. Clausens Return From Palm Springs The Clausens are back from a wonderful trip to Palm Springs where they leased a residence with a private outdoor pool and patio for five weeks. While there they visited Winnie's brother and sister in Santa Baroara, Knotts Berry Farm, Buena Park and Disneyland. The weather was perfect, with warm dry days for play and relaxation and the nights cool. The desert a^r is dry and invigorating, sun shining over 90 percent of the time and the high {fountains surrounding the city shield you from the costal rains and chill. Fog is unknown there. Today there are over 400 hotels and 2,000 swimming pools, here, combining this with clubs, theatres, cafes, and famous shops and Palm Springs itself and you have an ideal spot to vacation. Winnie's daughter, Betty, her two French poodles, Fanci and Soopy, and Sister Grace accompanied the Clausens. All attended the annual Policemen's Fund Show where they were entertained by Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis. Jr., Dinah Shore, Danny Thomas, Soupy. Sales and Bob Hope just to mention some. Phyllis Diller was seen at one of the night clubs in the area. An airial Tramway trip tc the top of Mt. The trip takes 14 minutes and each cable car holds 80 people. The Clausens also saw President Johnson who was visiting Palm Springs while they were there. Sewing Club The last meeting of the sewing circle was held at Pat Peterson's house and she reports that it will be at Dorothy Vilim's on April 14. Odds and Ends Daisy and John Smith visited Mr. Duncan the Saturday before Easter, bringing him a plant and chatting with him. Daisy took his dog, Button, with and he was. so thrilled to' see that the dog still remembered him. He looks wonderful and is very happy in his new home. On Tuesday evening Daisy worked at Scott headquarters. Volunteers are needed to hand out literature if you are interested, call Daisy. On April 1 a card party was. held at the VFW hail and Daisy, Doris Munroe, Doris Wetzel and Helen Simonsfcn attended After cards all went to Scott Headquarters for the offcial opening. The Clausens and the Smiths will be going to a tine eating place in Crystal Lake on Monday night to attend a dinner in honor of Elmer Hoffman who is a candidate for the office of Secretaiy of State. Jimmy Dostal underwent surgery last Monday morning at the Holy Cross hospital in Chicago and we are happy to be able to report that he is fine and expects to come home this weekend.
