Weidemann at St. John the Baptist Catholic church Saturday, April 4, at 12 o'clock noon, Miss Janet Ann Smith became the bride of Mr. John D. Schmaling. Miss Smith is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter M. Smith of 3515 N. Riverside Drive and her groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. George Schnfia- Jing of 3601 Richmond road. For the lovely ceremony the altars were decorated with white gladioli and mums and the children's choir offered the music. The radiant bride was gowned in silk faced peau. Venice lace enhanced the bodice, bell skirt and detachable train. Her headpiece bow was' of matching fabric with rose imported illusion bouffant veiling. She carried a cascade bouquet of white roses. Miss Barbara Smith was her sister's maid of honor and the , bridesmaid was a close friend of the bride, Mary Lou Wakitsch. They were gowned in powder blue sheer over taffeta sheath dresses with illusion necklines, cap sleeves and floor length overskirts. Matching headpieces, tiaras on bows with blusher veils, completed the pretty costumes. They carried baskets of assorted colored daisies. Robert G. Schmaling served as best man for his brother. Groomsman was Donald R. Johnson, a friend. Richard Huemann, the bride's cousin, and Douglas Einarson of Milton, Wis., the groom's cousin, were ushers. For her daughter's wedding Mrs. Smith was dressed in a powder blue lace sheath with matching jacket and accessories. Her corsage was a white cymbidium orchid. Blodgett, 70, of Chicago, a. summer resident of Pistakee^Bay for sixty-three years, died unexpectedly last Thursday, April 2, in his home. Mr. Blodgett was born Dec. 11. 1893. ' He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Betty Feller, of Park Ridge and two sons, Robert of Woodstock and John of Stratford, Cqnn. Services were held Monday from the Lain funeral home in Chicago, with interment in Memorial Park cemetery, Skokie. WOMAN'S CLUB TO HEAR LECTURE, ELECT OFFICERS DIVORCE GRANTED Jean Hensley was granted a divorce from Norman Hensley by Judge James Cooney in court last week. JERRY J. KOTYZA Jerry J. Kotyza, 71. of 8707 W. Memory Trail, Highland Shores, Wonder Lake, died Sunday morning, April 5, in his home, apparently of a heart attack. His body was found by his daughter-in-law, who said that he had been in poor health for about a year. Mr. Kotyza was borri in Slatina, Czechoslovakia, May 19, 1892, and came to this country at the a^e of 14. He had resided at Wonder Lake for about five years. Prior to that time he engaged in dairy farming near Darien, Wis., for twenty-five years. Mr. Kotyza was a member of Odd Fellows, Souvenir Lodge No. 831, Chicago. His wife, Bessie, preceded hirruin death May 21, 1962. He leaves a son, Richard, of Highland Shores; two brothers; two sisters and six grandchildren. The body rested at the Peter M. Justen & Son funeral home until 1 o'clock Wednesday, when Rev. Ernest Carder officiated at last rites. Burial was in Bohemian National cemetery. ROBERT J. ANDERSON An inquiry was held Monday into the death of Robert John Anderson, 2 months and 18 days old, who died in his home at 1212 W. Sunset drive, Holiday Hills, about 6:45 a.m. Death was attributed to pneumonia. The baby was born Jan. 18, in McHenry, son of John L. and Janet Grasser Anderson. Graveside rites were conducted at 4:15 o'clock at St. Patrick's Catholic church. ROBERT RITCHIE Robert Ritchie, 84, father of Mrs. Lura Yanda of McHenry, died April 7 at Winnebago, Minn., where he had lived for over 50 years. He retired from farming 14 years ago. Mr. Ritchie was born Sept. 14, 1879, in the state of North Carolina and grew up in the foothills of the Blue Ridge mountains. Miss Ruth J. Williams will present a lecture-demonstration, called "Fashions in Food".
