At this meeting it was reported that 16 percent of the $15,000 goal, or $2,400 had been collected. Workers reported that they had been well received and that interest In getting the Lake Region YMCA into operation was very high. Plans are already being made |or the first Lake Region YMCA activity. Films and speakers on summer YMCA camping programs for boys, girls and families will be presentee! at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 28, in the Central school auditorium, Crystal Lake. Interested people can register for these programs at the meeting. Among those assisting in the drive are Ted Smith, A. Forti, Mrs. Lon Reed and Mrs. A. S. Johnston of McHenry. "McHenry hasn't won any awards, but it certainly hasn't been sleeping. All the improvements made during my absence were quite obvious as we drove around.
