The dance committee was told to go ahead with the j reservation of a hail for a fall j dance and hire the band. More j definite plans will be published at a later date. Again a rummage salt*,would be held if the women could find a place for it. The girls were also in agreement with a neighborhood gettogether and. everything permitting. hope to have it in early summer. Also up for discussion was the officers for the next year. Beginning their term in July are the : following girls: Jerry Dicks, chairman. Clar^ Kurowski, vice chairman^ Pat Ferrell, secretary*, and Dorothy Parker, treasurer'. The next meeting will be held June 10 at the home of Dorothy Parker. Sister Maria del Ray, O.S.F. The Jerry Connerty family drove to Chicago on Sunday to visit with Ariene's mother. Mrs. Meyer. They all enjoyed dinner out. Also celebrating Mother's Day by dining out were Jim and Birdie Deppmeier and sons accompanied by the \V:llard Hillmans and Jim and Wayne Walters. Mr. and Mrs. Ray We.iner and family of Chicago were overnight guests in the Terrace home of her parents. Walter and Lillie Steidle. on Saturday. Joining them on Sunday for Mother's Day observance was son. Roy. and family of Chicago. Coming to the Tom Merhaut home on Sunday and staying overnight were his parents. Mr. and Mrs. Louis Merhaut, Oaklawn. More Bowling Completed The Friday evening bowling league completed the season's bowling with a dinner on Saturday at the Richmond VFW for the bowlers and their wives. ! Marv and Harriet Phillips attended along with the other members of Marv's sponsored team, Mr. and Mrs. Art Rohar, Mr. and Mrs. Steve Major. Mr. and Mrs. Don Fail, and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Duffey. The fellows received, a third place trophy. Erickson Boy Baptized Kurt David Erickson. infant son of Roy «nd Anna Jean Erickson, was baptized on Sunday, Mother's Day, at the Faith Presbyterian church in Eastwood Manor by Rev. J. Mclntyre. Witnessing the ceremony were the Erieksons' other three sons, Mike, Bobby and Steven. Following the service the family dined at the Chicago home of Roy's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Eric Erickson. Terrace Tidings Returning to their Chicago home on Thursday following a week's visit in the Terrace were Mr. and Mrs. Brurio Szydlow- ^ki. Chicago, parents of Jerry Dicks. Paul and Jean FedorcHak were members of the wedding party in gtterhlance at t hie marriage of Barb Kleekamp and Don Morozek in DesPlaines on Saturday, May 9. Tuesday visitors at the Merhaut home were Pat's Mom, Mrs. Anna Vesely. her sister, Mary Voightman, and children, and her grandmother, Mrs. Joseph Prezell. The Harry Gavins and Val Patulas accompanied by the David Jensens of the Hills were among the guests at the wedding of Francis Kattner and Liz Swiatek on Saturday. The ceremony was held at St. Peter's in Spring Grove and reception was at the Johnsburg Community Club. Mother's Day Doings Diana Kruger and daughters, Deborah and Sandra, arrived at the Bud Davidson home the Thursday before Mother's day Tor a short visit. The Krugers left on Saturday for their home in Metropolis. Another visitor to the Terrace on Mother's Day was Mrs. Effie Secord of Milwaukee, Wis., who is spending a couple of weeks with son, Howard, and his wife, Agnes. 4 The Joe Benoches were Sunday dinner guests at the home of his mother, Mr. and Mrs. Chester Crowley, Sunnyside. Other dinner guests included Dan and Lanita Glenn and family of Oak Park. Visiting in the Kurowski home for Mother's Day celebrations were the Joseph Hayes family of Chicago. Alice and George Mecko. Jr.. and daughters arrived Friday from Ohio and are dividing their time between the Terrace and her parents in Chicago. On Mother's Day they accompanied George, Mary and Mike Mecko to Joliet for a visit with Birthday Greetings As we wish the best of everything to our birthday celebrants this coming week, it looks like a week for family celebrations if ever. Harriet and son. Jimmy Phillips, celebrate their natal day together on May 22. Jimmy Perrewe will be five years old on May 22 while his mother. Lois, celebrates her birthday on May 23. FIND WEEVILS The alfalfa weevil has recently been found in Illinois, Dr. Harlow B Mills, chief of the Illinois Natural History Survey, reports. The alfalfa weevil was discovered in Illinois by Dr. Richard J. Dysart, who found a few weevils near Cave in Rock, Hardin county in April and some near Vienna in Johnson county the same day The weevil is nut present on individual farms in sufficient numbers to justify the expense of control n-.easuic;.
