Homecoming I'm very happy to report that Dave Druml is now home for a 41 day leave from the Marines, and I am sure it will be a very busy one. Maybe his folks will be able to sleep and eat now, something which they had been doing very little of lately. The not knowing when was very frustrating. Welcome home, Dave. (Jet-Well Wishes To Lee Glorch and Rose Schiddell who were in an auto accident last week Tuesday. Lee is suffering from a whip lash injury and Rose is badly bruised. Hope it isn't too serious. Our best wishes go to Ann Wohnrade who is suffering from a broken toe which happened last Sunday when she dropped two dinner plates on it. Her daughter, Jill Wohnrade, also had an accident Sunday when she punctured her lip with her own tooth when she fell. Our many prayers go with Polly Licastro who is in Sherman hospital in Elgin for surgery. Jackie Laursen had five sutures in his hand from falling on glass and Doug Funk bad one suture above his eye when he was hit by a stone. Margo Schaedel was in Woodstock hospital for a few days for tests. We are happy to be able to report that Carole Humann is now able to get out of bed. It's been a long seige. Waiting to help spoil their new sister are Karen, Debra and Pamela. May God grant His very best blessings on the Foszcz family. Strolling Through The Park The Paul Schwegel home was really buzzing last Wednesday. Every youngster in the park seemed to be busy playing ball in their empty lot. One eye was constantly on the Schwegel home waiting the arr Ivalof the Cubs, Ron Santo. Paul and Joan had attended the Cub, Houston game as guests of Mr. Santo and had box seats directly behind the Cub dugout. Having the Cubs win that game made the day complete. Mr. Santo returned to the Schwegel home with Paul and was kept busy by all the anxious Little and Pony leaguers from here. The most thrilled youngster must have been little David Wickenkamp who lives baseball. Ron Santo was guest speaker at McHenr£' s Pony League banquet that evening. Heard his talk was most inspiring. It'll be a long time before the community forgets Mr. Santo's visit to the Schwegels. Pam and Paul Schwegel each had a birthday party last week. Pan) was 13 on the 2nd and celebrated with a Beatle movie party for the following girls. Marie Karstens, Sharon Davidson, Susan Pankiewicz and Peggy McMillian. Sue and Matt Grizley and friends, Ran and Jean Clark, spent a lovely weekend up at the Wisconsin Dells, ^hey also went to Devils Lake and Baraboo where they visited the winter quarters of Ringling Bros, circus. The motel that they stayed had an indoor pool and Sue managed to swim the width of.it. She said they had a wonderful time. Matt's mother baby-sat for them at home. Debbie George celebrated her birthday last week by having Mary Johnson, Nancy Matthews and Christy Jaenicke over for cake and ice cream and then going to the show. Mrs. Frank Camasta of West Shore Beach made some very nice center pieces for the managers of the McHenry Pony League for their banquet last Wednesday. Donna and Ray Rode and their children spent a few days camping out in Lac-du-Flam beau, Wis,, last week. Fishing was poor for the male members but Donna got, all sorts of rest and relaxation. Don's baseball team were hosts. There was plenty of food, one very wonderful mother even sent a pie home for Carole to enjoy. Sue Funk celebrated her birthday last weekend in Chicago by having breakfast in one home, dinner in another and supper in still another. Sounds like a real nice way of doing it. Heard that 2 a.m. on Sunday morning was very active around the Kamp home. Seems that Ronnie's pet duck, Squawky, decided to take a stroll and Bill, clad in his shortie P.J.'s, was also compelled to take a walk to get "Squawky" back to his pen. Nothing like pets to keep Bill active at the wee small hours of the day. You're real good dad Bill. Llody Wagner, his father-inlaw and brother-in-law spent the Labor Day weekend at the Mississippi Palisades fishing. Heard they caught mdatylltoj bites and no fish. Won't all of you who dirve through the subdivision please,' take an extra few seconds and slow down on the speed of your vehicle? School is once again in session and youngsters forget and dash out without stopping to think. Why wait until some accident occurs and then be sorry. Let's play it safe and slow down. While we're on the subject of youngsters, parents, please warn you? youngsters of the hazards and consequences of hanging on to or running behind the school fusses. It is happening at the bus stops already. A word of warning could prevent serious injury later. There is also rock throwing going on and one lad has already been a victim Come on mom and dad help stop the risks, before it's too late.
