The Johnsburg Forester's town basketball team will be the hosts of this affair. They invite everyone to take part in the morning meal which will be served from 7:30 a.m. until about 1 p.m. So why not take your family to church in a group next Sunday and then stop off and let these fellows make breakfast for you. It will be a treat for Mom and the rest of the family will enjoy it too. Out Of Town Guests For Holiday Mr. and Mrs. George Oeffling, Jr., of Dolores Drive, were happy to have as their guests on Thanksgiving Day, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Buss of California, and Mr. and Mrs. Chester Clute and sons, Richard and Chester, Jr., of Michigan. Mrs. Buss and Mrs. Clute are sisters of Sarah's. Also enjoying the holiday meal were the senior Oefflings and Lawrence Cook, Sarah's Dad, who makes his home with them. The visitors returned to their respective homes over the following weekend. First Daughter Welcomed Dainty little things are what Harriet Rizzo will be buying for a change. She and Bob welcomed their fourth child and first daughter at the Sherman hospital on Nov. 28. The Rizzos* three sons range in age from 14 months up to 4 years. The darling little Miss weighed 7 xk lbs. upon arrival. You can imagaine all the attention she is getting at home these days. Her maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Frank Rizzo of Fox Lake. We wish them much happiness with their new addition. Engagement Announced Word was received by me recently that Ricky Greig, son of Sam and Pat Tomasello, slipped a beautiful engagement ring on the finger of Diane Stanley, of Roseville, Mich. Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Norman of that city, made the announcement recently. The wedding is planned for the 24th of April in Roseville. Ricky is stationed at the Suffrage Air Force Base, just outside of Mt. Clemens, Mich. Much happiness in the future is extended to this young couple from all of their friends. Trees Anyone? There are lots of Christmas trees available at the yard of the Joe Hiller home on St. John's avenue if you are interested. The boy Foresters have charge of the sale again this year. The Barnard Mill Teen club will hold a contest for the best dutside decorations in the Ringwood area. How to enter? Just sit tight. The Teens will be around to see you, and to collect a fee of one dollar to anyone who wishes to enter. The winners will be awarded prizes of money. To Go Caroling The Jr. M.Y.F. will go Christmas Caroling on Dec. 12 at 1:15 p.m. They will sing at the Valley Hi Rest Home in Hartland. The Mothers are asked to send cookies for the old folks. If you would like to send cookies, just contact any of the Jr. M.Y.F. youngsters, and I'm sure they would be more than happy to take them over with them. Happy Birthday, Janet It was too white out last Friday for anyone to help Janet Bauer celebrate her birthday, so I'd like to wish her a happy birthday a little late. Maybe the next time the snow will let us come to your party. Charlie Wegener, son of the James Wegeners of McHenry, celebrated his first birthday on Friday also. Birthday wishes to him as well. Farewell To Brennemans On the 9th of December the Rev. and Mrs. Bruce Brenneman and family will move to Chicago where Rev. Brenneman will be the pastor of a parish. On Sunday afternoon there was a farewell party held for Brennemans in the church basement. It was also Mrs. Brenneman's birthday. The Brennemans have been in Ringwood for the past three years, during which time they have made many friends. The best wishes are extended to the Brennemans in their new home. We welcome him. Here 'N' There Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Brennan and son, Wayne, of Twin Lakes were supper guests at the home of his parents, the Charles Brennans, on Wednesday. Seems that the snowy weather kept most {people at home, so-that's all the news to report from Ringwood. from them. Shop early while the selection is wide. St. Agatha's Court Christmas Parties Members of the juvenile court are invited to participate in the party which is planned for next Sunday beginning at 5 p.m. and continuing on until 7:30. Supper will be served at the beginning of the festivities. Each member attending is asked to bring a quarter to cover the cost of the food, and an exchange gift. Pre-school through fourth grades will exchange a 25 cent gift, fifth through seventh, a 75 Cent gift (please note the price error in last week's column) and eighth through high school, a one dollar gift. Santa Claus will be there for sure to pass out the gifts and all kinds of things will be happening. If you are a court member, plan on attending, and join in on the fun. On Tuesday, Dec. 15, St. Agatha court 777, W.C.O.F., will gather in the community club hall for their annual holiday doings. A pot-luck supper will begin the evening at 6:30 p.m. There will be a fifty cents exchange of gifts, a food shower for the Sisters and a donation may also be made for the missions. At 1 p.m. Saturday afternoon, the Knights of the Altar will meet in St. John's school. Long Time Resident Passes On Funeral services for Mrs. Emma Schulz were conducted in Chicago last Sunday. Mrs. Schulz passed away in the Harvard hospital after a short illness on Thursday. She had resided on Sunnyside Beach Drive for many years. Our sincere sympathies are extended to her husband. Paul. Also surviving are a daughter, three sons, seven grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren. Urge Driving Caution Once Again Just a little reminder again that with the snow around to stay for a while, we all must exert more caution while driving. Allow yourself more time to get from one place to another. Our children are most precious to us so where they are playing, please, and an extra please, DRIVE CAREFULLY. Hospital Patient Get-well wishes to Ben Freund who spent several days last week as a patient in the McHenry hospital. We hope by this writing he is up and around and his happy self once again. Busy Season For Man In Red Even though "good old Santa Claus" is at the peak of his busy season, he has promised to be in our town on Dec. 20. His appearance is being sponsored by the Johnsburg Businessmen's Association. Santa will be on tiand to hear all the requests from the young ones (and even the "older" ones if they care to) on this date. He will be at the beautiful tree the businessmen decorate each year beginning at about 12:30 p.m. As his background, some appropriate seasonal music will be played and favors will be given to the children. So plan on bringing the kiddies down to "the loop" in the heart of Johnsburg to give their orders to old Santa. Glad Tidings With a prayer of thanks, I'm happy to report there were no calls answered by the Johnsburg rescue squad this past week. Implores Patience I wish to ask for your cooperation for the next couple of weeks as far as news is concerned. Please call your items in to me by Sunday evening. My "ever lovin' ", who was the source of getting my news to the office by Monday afternoon, is not coming home for lunch for the next few weeks. Gronouski. In his speech he described the facility as the world's largest on one floor and stated that it was designed to reduce congestion in Chicago.
