I'm referring to the two fat robins who were feeding in my backyard recerttly. I was sure Spring was on its way when they appeared, but changed my mind when they disappeared just as fast as they came. Friday I received a phone call from a neighbor, Mrs. Ray Kruger, who has the robins feeding in her yard now. So don't lose heart, spring is definately on its way. After last weekend, who can doubt it. Come the middle of July when the temperatures hit a 100 in the shade, we will be wishing-for some of this cold I think. Never satisfied, are we? New Home. Occupants Bob and Dolores Meyer are now living in their beautiful new home on Hillcrest Place. We all join in wishing them the very best of luck, along with many years of happiness in their new surroundings. Vacation Time Comes To A Close Mr. and Mrs. Joe Smith returned from Florida by train last Thursday evening after spending an extended vacation there. They spent several weeks visiting his daughter and family, the Bill Tamasys. Even though they both had a most enjoyable time. There is still "no place like home."- Mother Passes On Our sympathies are extended to Mrs. Bill Martinec and her family upon the untimely death of her mother. Mrs. Louisfe Kiddelsen passed away last Monday evening in the Michael Reese hospital in Chicago. She had been a patient there for only three days. Mrs. Kiddelsen took ill suddenly on Wednesday and was taken to the Mc- Henry hospital. On Friday she was transferred by ambulance to the Chicago hospital. Death came shorly after surgery had been performed. Beside Ruth, two daughters and a son also survive, as do fourteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. Mrs. Kiddelsen was 74 years old at the time of her death. Funeral services were conducted in McHenry on Friday afternoon. Of Interest To All Of interest to some ladies will be the leader training course for junior grade books which will be held in Woodstock high school library on March 30. The time will be from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Anyone interested in this may attend the meeting or you may call Louise Worzala at 385- 584 for more information. There will be a need for co-leaders also. A discussion group for volunteers will be coming up sometime in September. You may also discuss this in more detail by phoning Mrs. Worzala. Ruffles And Dainty Things That's what will be in great demand at the Bob Hettermann home from now on. Bob's wife, Barbara, gifted him with a very charming 7 lb. IV2 oz. baby girl on Feb. 27. The newest member was born in the Woodstock hospital and will be called Julie from now on. Most happy with their first granddaughter are the Ed. Hettermanns and the Arnold Rauens. Julie also has a 2V2 year old brother who just may share his toys with her in the future if she is real nice to him. Congratulations to the Hettermanns upon their new addition. Julie arranged it so she made her appearance on her greataunt Ollie's natal day. Needless to say it thrilled her no end. Congratulations Corner Belated wishes to Marilyn Rudolph who observed her natal day on Feb. 25. The occasion was celebrated by husband, Dick, taking her out for dinner at a local restaurant. Barbara Hettermann had" reson for celebration on Feb. 26. March 16 will be a big day for Susan Dehn. It will mark the first anniversary of her birth. On March 14 our house will be celebrating Jim's "big day." Mary Hettermann and Marilyn Smith both share March 20 as their natal days. The Smith family will be planning something special for Harry on March 21. I'll bet. A very special wish to all you "wearers of the green" on Inarch 17. Sodality To Hold Meeting Next Tuesday, March 9, the officers and members of the Blessed Virgin Sodality will meet in the community club hall at 8 p.m. All members are cordially invited to be in attendance. Rescue Squad Calls On Feb. 24 the squad members were called to Eastwood Manor when a young woman suffered respiratory trouble and was taken in the squad ambulance to McHenry. This was at 12:45 p.m. At 5:22 p.m. on the 26th an elderly man in Oeffling's subdivision suffered a possible heart attack. He was also taken to McHenry hospital for further treatment. The running count now totals 2,447 to date. Another tip for safety from the Johnsburg rescue squad has to do when their siren blows. Please, parents, warn your children to stay away from the roads until' the ambulance is well on its way. Also, motorists who are on the road when the ambulance goes out are asked to pull off to the shoulder immediately. They came back on the 25th to beat Dundee 77 to 70. The 3rd of March they played at Wauconda. On the 7th they will be on the road to Marengo to play their game at 2:30. Why not try tQ get out and see some of these games. They are most enjoyable and the boys would like to know there is someone Tooting them on. Speaking of basketball--several of our Forester teams are participating in the current C.O.F. at the McHenry high school gym. Home Safe And Sound Glad to see Clarence and Lucille Smith arrived home safe after spending a few months touring Florida. They saw many points of interest as well as visiting many friends and relatives. p Thiel Baby Baptized The infant daughter of Harry and Mary Thiel was baptized shortly after one o'clock last Sunday afternoon. The rite was performed by Father Weidemann in St. John's church. Sponsors for the baby were her aunt and uncle, Mr. and IVIrs. Donald Thiel. The newest member in the Thiel family was baptized Kristie Ann. Gathering in the Thiel home for dinner on Sunday were the godparents and their children, Donnie and Betty, the paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Thiel, the baby's big brother, John, and his friend, Sally Justen, and her three big sisters, Terrie, Bonnie and Melartie. After a fun game and the demonstration, Mrs. Eva Degan, Mrs. Fred Smith of Johnsburg, Mrs. Jerome Tonyan; Mrs. Leonard Freund, Mrs. Paul Tonyan, Mrs. Regner, all of McHenry; Mrs. Anton Wieser and Mrs. Bob Brennan of Ringwood all enjoyed a delicious luncheon.
