She has served the McHenry Community P.T.A. in the past as legislative chairman and more recently in the studje-of^facilities for special education. Mrs. Alvary helped develop the Junior Great Books program in this area and co-leads a group in the Junior high school. At present, he teaches in the Johnsburg public school, where he has served for eight years. Before moving to McHenry, he was a member of the board of School District 34 in Kingwood. Mr. Andreas is a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters. He assisted in the operation of the Little League in 1963. His affiliations also include membership in the Great Books Club, the Illinois Education Association and Phi Delta Kappa, honorary men's educational fraternity. Married to the former Doris Bauer, they have three boys, Dean, 5, Dirk, 4, and Dana, 2. Duane Andreas, a lifelong Dr. James E. Sayler, of 616 N. Center Street is a lifelong resident of McHenry and a graduate of McHenry high school. He received his bachelor of science degree from the University of Illinois and has been a practicing dentist here for many years. Married to the former Isabel Freund, they have three children, Larry, who has just completed Army service; Dick, 20, and Alan, 12, both at home. Tom Davis is a resident of 3202 W. Golf View, McHenry. He is a graduate with a B.S. degree from the University of Illinois College of Engineering. Mr. Davis is employed as senior sales engineer in materials handling at the Barber- Greene company in Aurora. He is married to Boots Davis and they have four children, Kim, 14, a freshman in McHenry high school; Bruce, 12, and in seventh grade; Melissa, 8, in third grade; and Richard, 7, in second grade. Cynthia A. Knox, was born and raised in the McHenry area and now resides at 2411 N. Riverside Drive, where she cares for a family of four children. She was educated in St. John's grade school and McHenry high school. Boehm stopped off In San Francisco to visit her son, Jim, who recently returned from South Viet Nam, where he was stationed aboard the U.S.S. Ticonderoga. While in San Francisco, Jim took his mother aboard the Ticonderoga to. visit another McHenry boy, Ed Stacknick. The boys took Mrs. Boehm to lunch in the mess hall of the ship and then took her on a tour of the carrier. Since the ship was in drydock it was in quite a state of repair, but proved to be a most interesting experience. Mrs. Boehm was a Navy WAVE for three and one half years in World War II and had never before seen an aircraft carrier or any of the other large ships which were in port at the time. It will be a visit long remembered.
